THE MAP - I have vaguely entered the points of which people that posted there locations, are. I knows the marks are not exact, some may not be close, but mostly only states were given. Please do not nitpick over the spots on the map.
Okay!!! Here is a visual aid, I like to have them, its just easier then people trying to visualize or do themselves. I think that everyone should put in a suggestion for the location based on the (vaguely placed) marks, so please post what you think might be an ideal location. We will be voting on them.
Please be fair, I know everyone would like to have it in their own back yard, but we do not have that luxury. As said, a more centralized location would be helpful.

This is my BFG. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My BFG is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it, as I must master my life. Without me, my BFG is useless. Without my BFG, I am useless. I must fire my BFG true, I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to frag me. I must frag him before he frags me. I will. I swear this creed: my BFG and myself are defenders of my team, we are the pwners of my enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until my enemy is blown to bits.
Kansas does seem like a good place to have it. Right in the middle of the U.S.
But this all depends on who can actually attend.

Ooo, it seems we are moving along. Hmm, I like Kansas as well, but normally I just follow the crowd. THOUGH I think somewhere centralized would be best... like Kansas. O_o
Course you rate, hun. If all goes well, some year we'll go to Australia. I'd like that, anyway.
Anyway, it looks like there are a lot of people in the east (which doesn't surprise me). Kansas may be more literally centralized in the US, but, I think we may want to shoot for something more eastern, to be closer to more potential participants.
I know it can't be in everyone's back yard, but, tweaking to the east actually puts it closer to being in more people's back yard. Plus, I think it would be easier on planning if it were held in a state where at least one of us lives. Coordination will be difficult enough - but, finding a place and getting everything set up will be complicated, especially if whoever is doing the set up has to do so across several state lines. Internet makes that easier, but, being in person would probably help.
Just my thoughts.

We are conforming to the mass of the group to try to make it fair to -everyone- not just the clusters that are close together. It would be a pity to make it a skip for some and a cross country trip for others. Just trying to be fair. If you think a closer state is better just offer it, then through a poll, we will choose.
What about Kentucky? Thats kinda in the middliesh of most those blobs. (Oh and Brutal love, John and I live in Western New York, so more toward Canada. No where near New York City *shudders* Great place to visit, wouldn't wanna live there though. Thats City is crazy!) The Virgina's are kinda in the middle too. I know from where I live for example it's a ten hour drive to Virginia beach, Thats with skirting major cities for us country bumpkins who hat cities. AND if I rememeber right it's roughly the same distance for people from Florida to drive to Virginia as well.
Reason I mention Drive times is cause, well....some people would look into Driving rather then flying inevitably.
(*cries.. * nit pickers!! its a vague map.. vague mapping of where peeps is located.. *cries*)
(*cuddles Brutal*)
I do got one thing to add. Kansas....GAH! *hides* I don't wanna be in the middle of Tornado Alley durning Tornado season! It's bad enough I live at the tail end of it.
Course then again the East coast has Hurrican season.....

That's what I was thinking Ruthia. I don't see how Kansas is centralized...and yeah, New York for me. And Itzquahpilli's character lives in Vermont. And who lives in New Hampshire and never told me about it!?
If we did do Kentucky, I think that would make more sense. It would save the most money and people could donate towards the others who would have to fly in, eh?
I have to agree with Ruthia, central east coast, cause unfortantly thats where the majority of the players are. As for central east coast hurricanes usually aren't a huge problem actually we just get the remains (ie rain) from them. its more southern east states that get the actually hurricanes
the point is to make it a fare travel distance for everyone, regardless of where the majority of the players are, the point is to find a happy medium for everyone not just the majority.
Not everyone can spend 500bucks on a ticket, or a week on the road
If you believe that the west coast travellers arnt a big deal if they can afford or go, then so beit.
Just trying to make it so EVERYONE has an equal if not honest chance of being able to participate.

I've forgotten what hurricanes are, but Kentucky definitely sounds more reasonable to me as it's only between 8 and 12 hours drive away.
I love those maps. I used Mayfield, Owensboro, Lousiville, and Pikeville as references for any trip into Kentucky. Pikeville being the east most, Mayfield the west most, and Louisville being the north most. My apologies for going of on a tangent, but it's good to know the length of travel.

It's not an invalid point, Ruthia, depending on WHEN you want to set it in the Midwest, you might have to worry about tornadoes. I was actually kind of hoping for something a little further away from here, but if everyone agrees on Kansas, I'm up for that. It's less than a day's trip for me.
Oh, and I had absolutely no clue Mortonia's from Des Moines, too! That's amazing! Now I'm wondering if I've ever ran into her...*thinks*
Well, now I'm actually going to throw in my 2 cents worth. Anyone considered Branson, Missouri? There's a ton of hotels and stuff there (course it's busy as sin, but irregardless) AND it's a day's drive from almost everywhere in the US. Granted, the people who don't live in the US would still have to fly, along with some people further toward the coast, but that's going to happen no matter what we do, I think. Anyhow, that's my 2 cent's. Now I'm going to get back to work!
I would have to agree the Branson, Missouri is nearly a day from everyone.
Let's see...It's an 18 hour drive for me, a 31 hour drive for the Northeastern part of Washington state, a 27 drive from Edmundston which is right on the Maine, US/New Brunswick, CA line.
From Miami it's almost 22 hours and from San Francisco it's 30 hours.
So...the facts don't lie Acacia is correct no matter the few hours off.
So I suppose the Branson, Missouri is truly in the middle of it all.
Almost anyway!

Well, Gabby's player, sweet , I didn't think anyone else was from Vermont or New Hampshire... I'm from Thetford Center, Vermont...sort of near White River Junction, or Hanover, if you recognize any of those. Right now though, I'm in Lyndonville, in college... So yeah, nice to know I have a neighbor real close here to.
I like the Branson idea much more then Kansas... but I do understand the need for a central location... but at the same time you need to see where the majority of the people are... sorry cause a trip to Branson for me most likely is over 300 bucks. and to drive there it would take me two days, sorry I can't drive straight through sorry you need to look at actually time to get there not just the driving hours
