Protection

I was playing a game and I had a Taunting elf and a couple other creatures in play. He had 4 slivers out including the sliver that gives them all pro-green. Would he still have to block the taunting elf even though his creatures have pro-green. The Elf doesnt use a targeting word it says "all creatures". Just wanted to know
