IC and OOC Harassment

There's a couple of other threads where this is getting discussed and it's said there's no recourse. To be clear, this is what's forbidden by the Code of Conduct and the suggested procedures for dealing with it:

* Harassment of another specific person either IC or OOC. The procedure for this is simple. If someone is harassing you, tell them pointedly that you find it bothersome and tell them to stop. Clearly. Not implied. If they continue, use the ignore function, that is what it is for. And report them to a Moderator. Harassment is not a joke and will be dealt with severely. Things like unprovoked attacks, following people around the site, posting annoying thought bubbles that irritate, not stopping when asked to stop. In Character play DOES NOT obviate this rule.

Yes, the Magi will take action if documentable harassment is occurring. This "action" include everything from acting as mediators between the players if you don't want it escalated and you request us to do that, to banning the harassing player. But you have to do more than tell us "so and so is bothering me". Please send us information on rooms and times and character names involved and we WILL look into it and we WILL respond.

However, even with that, we can't guarantee that we can stop it.

We can't do anything about people who say snide and hurtful things about your playing style or your characters while talking with their friends outside of ISRP. We are ISRP moderators, not life moderators.

We can't stop every nasty IC remark by every character on the possibility that someone might consider it harassment. It needs to be a pattern of behavior aimed at a specific person.

We can't take your word or your friends's word for it that you're being harassed. We need to be able to see at least some examples in the logs.

We -want- to be able to stop this sort of behaviour, but you have to help us. If not, then yes, our hands are tied and you're on your own.
