Because no one demanded it... The Star Wars thread

We all have just a little bit of geek hope left smouldering after Crazy uncle George's last few efforts, but How do you guys feel about the approach of Vader 1.0?

I'm really looking forward to it. Truth is, I'm usually willing to overlook a lot of George's missteps if he gives me mythology and good lightsaber battles.

This one looks like it's going to be mean and dark, and have some kick-donkey lightsaber battles.

I'll agree. I need some good lightsaber goodness. According to recent news releases there will be continued starwars stories in cartoon form (Clone wars has been kick ass) and a television series is in development. This movie had better be good.

the more I think

The more I think about the idea of A star wars tv series the more it strikes me with a feeling of dread. I don't know if crazy uncle George has it in him to create even a good season's worth of star wars stories. I'm really afraid that this will make the stench of enterprise seem sweet smelling by comparison. Add that to the fact that scifi television's bar has been set pretty high as of late b5 (rest its soul) and Battlestar provide the bencmarks that he must clearly surpass for the series to be considered worthwhile. Hell, Battlestar had a combat scene in the last few weeks that even professiona reviewers described as better than anything lucas has done since the original series.
