About the same here. We've been busy with school restarting. Molly broke her thumb at daycare recently. I've been trying to get caught up on several projects on which I'm behind. Chicago summer has been hot, but it's getting a bit more reasonable. I'm teaching a course on ethics and religious pluralism and a course on peace studies this quarter.

What's going on with everyone else?

I'm unfortunately sober. I think, should my budget allow this month, I'm going to buy some good whiskey and drink it over the weekend.

Right now I'm sitting up with a very naughty boy who, despite repeated readings of Curious George, won't sleep. Thank god for wireless networking.

Usual back to school stuff going on over at the college. Faculty streaming in with last minute requests, Moodle to set up, and on top of it all a new website to build. So lots of late night work.

Just to add a layer of rage to life, I've been obsessing over GWB and Hurricane Katrina, hence the need for whiskey.

By the way, Scott, I don't know if your blog tracks referring links, but if you are getting some from a Hungarian site, it is Kinga's blog, http://avajszinuarnyalat.freeblog.hu/ .

I had one of my own an deleted it. If I can find the time, I'll finish writing the code to house one on my own site. I've written blogging code for ACI, but in ASP; my site supports PHP only so I've got to translate it.

Haven't read Beowulf in years. I once was going to run a one-on-one Viking-themed DnD game for Ken and base a side adventure on Beowulf.

Speaking of gaming, I leafed through my old Polyhedron's. The issue that had the original pulp game is missing and I suspect it is one I lent out to a guy I worked with at the EPA and haven't seen since. I did find the issue that had the D20 Modern version of pulp heroes. If you and Chance would care to play that ruleset, I'll send along a .pdf of the rules.

If you're all still interested in a pulp game, that is.

Kid still isn't asleep.

You know you like the man in the yellow hat. Got home from practice at 9 and can't seem to wind down enough to hit the sack....

As for Beowulf. I'm only able to teach an excerpt of it. So I hit the high points.. Grendel, Mom, and Fire Dragon while dealing with the cultural issues. I use the 13th warrior as a connection for my best and brightest.

I've been offered the A.P. class 2 or three years running. I never take it over because ... well I've taught those kids in honors as sophomores....the A.P. class would probably not be worth the extra headache. maybe once I'm done coaching wrestling this year...

I'm still interested. Sorry I've been poky on the D&D game. End of summer and all that.

The man with the yellow hat is a jerk. Kidnaps George out of the jungle, exposes him to danger by always leaving him on his own, and then tells him it was his fault for being a 'naughty little monkey'.

Granted, that's how I'm raising Andras, but still.

I survived the first week of school. I'll start writing up the pulp game. And maybe, Chance, I can find the time to come over and write.

Sounds good on both counts...

We got a win this weekend. OH and I'm happy to announce that tonight there will be no vodka/energy drink fueled meandering here tonight...

Nah, why run from it?

Seriously, just stock up on ammo and pick off the wingnuts.

Sure, a guy in a panda costume, with a day-glo blue diaper, is a low CR and such, but stack up on the volume of the idjits and you get some solid XP wracked up.

*muhahaha*

I mean, if it comes, we'll all rally at a compound, game in shifts, and pick off the nutter bunnies.
