A rundown of the New Releases that should be hitting games stores this coming week! Board games, card games, RPGs, Wargames, Miniatures and collectible games... hopefully something for everyone! For more information about any of the products please contact your local games store.

Hello everyone, Darryl here with this week’s gaming news! We’ve got a lot of miniature and board game news because Gen Con’s just around the corner and all the RPG news will be happening then. In the mean time, we’ve got our first look at the final production models for Stafinder miniatures, a new dungeon crawl board game from WizKids, Target getting over 70 new exclusive games, new Warhammer 40,000 Codices, and more!

ICv2 has released its latest survey of Top 5 hobby channel tabletop roleplaying games for the Spring 2017 period. The results are largely similar to previous periods, with D&D, Pathfinder, and Star Wars taking the top three spots as they have since 2014. Shadowrun has dropped from #4 to #5 due to the newly ranking Adventures in Middle Earth from Cubicle 7 (itself, of course, actually a setting book for D&D 5th Edition rather than a full game).

Hello everyone, Darryl here with this week’s gaming news! D&D Beyond launch date and pricing information finally announced (and it’s not that bad all things considered), this year’s Spiel des Jahres winners announced, Privateer Press launches a new miniature subscription box service, WizKids steps on the toes of Penny Arcade, and more!

AAannnnd... I'm back! Sorry for the last couple of missed weeks, friends, but Life Gets On You, as we say here at the Silver Unicorn Pub. Between the many, many professional projects I am juggling and a rather intensive convention season ramping up, I am scrambling for time to shove my head up over the waterline, so I thank you for your kind patience. This week's Picks run the gamut of ancient horror and near-future cyberpunk, far-future anime and a fantastic wizarding school. Oh, and some playing cards that are very friendly to the eyes.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to one and all! From fantasy to cyberpunk to the cartoon lands of action, we're wandering all over the realm of gaming and imagination today, which seems extraordinarily appropriate. This week's Picks include a couple of massive bundle deals, which might disappear at any time, so I highly recommend you grab them as soon as you can. The last vestiges of GM's Day celebration are fading into mystical nothingness, much like the leprechaun's pot o' gold...

Hello everyone, this week we have holy crap con season started and ALL the news is happening save me please! GAMA is going on this week and one of the largest gaming trade shows means a lot of big product announcements. Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Starfinder, Shadowrun, and more announcements. Cool Mini or Not is poising to make a major move on the market. Fall 2016 sales reports are in from ICv2 to let you know the bestselling games on the market today. And more!

Welcome back to our weekly look at tabletop roleplaying game, and accessories, crowdfunding roundup! Each week we’ll be looking at a few campaigns currently running that have caught our eye as well as occasionally speaking to some of the creators about their campaigns, or looking at some of the ‘behind the scenes’ business aspects of putting together, launching, operating and then delivering a crowdfunded project. If you have anything you’d like us to cover, or questions about anything we talk about, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or contact me directly.

Aaaaannnd... we're back! The Picks of the Week return with a slew of cool stuff here on the front page of EN World, including fantasy of the classic, epic, and seafaring varieties, as well as the shadows of the near-future streets and a grand treatise on the matters of tropes in fantastic and adventure fiction.

This past week, kicked off as it was by Cyber Monday, gave me the inspiration to do a Cyber-Week, celebrating all-things-cyberpunk in RPGs. That means Shadowrun, of course, but there's quite an array of things for your perusal across the spectrum of games and systems for this ironically venerable genre. Please note that the daily Sean's Pick of the Day has returned to its original site, though the Picks of the Week will continue here on E.N. World.

With it being Cyber Monday, another theme week suggests itself - Cyperpunk! We kick this week off with an offering from DriveThruRPG's sister site, DriveThruFiction, featuring a Shadowrun novel by Lisa Smedman. With a setting as deep and as venerable as Shadowrun, the fiction is often the best way to get a handle on what's going on.

Back when I was in college, a friend brought up a weird game that he picked up from some friends of his who worked for a publishing company in Chicago. It was weird because it had the audacity to mix elves, orcs and dwarves into a science fiction future inspired by movies like Bladerunner and books like Neuromancer. In case you haven't figured it out yet, this game was FASA's Shadowrun.

Once again, I am overwhelmed by the sheer variety of games and settings available to us as a hobby, and the immense quality of those offerings. When I first started as a gamer (1977, folks), it was almost all D&D, and anything else out there was black-and-white, often photocopied or printed in simplest fashion. The standard for what we see now is far-and-away amazing, gorgeous, and engaging. Great time to be a gamer!

This week's Picks feature a lot of "useful stuff for running games," including modern gear for Dark Conspiracy, random magical items for Savage Worlds, and all you could want to know about Seattle in the Shadowrun universe. Then there's the fire-oriented ninja clans of Ninja Crusade and all the over-the-top fantasy of Exalted 3rd Edition. This is the stuff I have for you this week, friends, so let's dive in.

As I write this, I am one day out of the hospital from my bariatric surgery. All went well, and I am expected to recover fully and accomplish the goal, which is to seize back my life in a much healthier fashion. Today, however, I am very drained as my body keeps asking "what the heck just happened!?!" In that I was able to plan ahead, I front-loaded all my Picks for the week on my Sean's Pick of the Day site, and I've simply ported those over to today's article here on ENWorld. If you note any strangeness below, or deviations from my usual format, that should explain it. And now, onward...

This was a huge week for D&D fans (especially those who fancy the 5th Edition), and especially for anyone who has a desire to create and share 5e-driven content, whether as a fan, would-be new publisher, or an established house. The Dungeon Masters Guild - a joint venture between Wizards of the Coast and DriveThruRPG - not only provides a venue for official 5e material to come out digitally from WotC, it sets up a solid mechanism for anyone to create and share 5e material with the world. The current focus is on the Forgotten Realms, but there's little doubt other settings will eventually make their appearance (and availability for creation) on the site down the road. Parallel to this is the release of the long-awaited new OGL terms and System Reference Document for full-scale publishing operations. Understandably, there are a lot of questions about how it all works. If you're serious about doing something, do yourself a favor and read this page, top to bottom, carefully.
