The with the right at wills a swordmage also actually almost a controller (short range minion wacker). I fact, in a certain sense I think they have better control that the battlemage build. (They have enemy only at-will bursts...).
The more I think about it I really think that rushing the swordmage out in the FR book was a way to deal with the shortage of defenders and controllers (we actually have three wizards here... but I've seen some groups, including my KotS group, that haven't had controllers... ).

I am in an interesting period of my life; I will post in games that I run three times a week (M,W,F); and try to maintain obligations in existing games.
...disquieting...
There was no end to his patience and endurance. He played day and night, his obsession was somewhat disquieting. It was less as if he were playing to dispel gloom or beguile tedium than as if he were giving himself up to the fangs of gaming devils."

Actually, Alexander (my defender) has a lack of squishy companions to defend
Ah, now this is a most serious problem my friend No matter how badly we talk about those sissy Strikers and Controllers behind thier backs they sometimes come in handy...
Yeah... considering they are a hobgoblin rogue, a hobgoblin warlord, and a minotaur cleric... it took a feat to have a human fighter only slightly tougher
Good gaming!

I am working on my character: Caesar Secundus, a human warlord/warlock from the Imperium, bent on the destruction of the elitist Eladrin rule and the creation of a proper democracy, bringing humans and half-elves into their rightful places in the Imperium.
Mri'Thas: "Useless primates... " Sheng Zim: "Your existence brings the world out of balance. The chaos I bring shall revert it; unfortunately, your soul will be destroyed in the process."
-------------------------------------- Tuk Heavy Hands Apeldan: "Trolls are afraid to cats. Good to know" (Yttermayn's "Saga of the Dragon Cult") Cnosos: "I bet there's plenty of wonderful devices in that ship. Let's scavenge them at once!" (Blackrat's "After Earth") Metliz: Sounds like fun! (Arkandus's "The First") Thok: "Thok eats a lot, Thok big. Thok not good at first impressions." (MnL's "Valley of the Dead")

Heh. That could be interesting.
Do you plan on connecting the character to the Veritas in any way?
Heh. That could be interesting.

Not directly.
He is a member of one of the few highly educated upper class human families, so has had lots of experiece at least witnessing the politics of the land. During a party for the senate types, his mother was raped by a senator, resulting in the birth of his half elf brother who was quickly shipped off to live with a distant cousin in order to hide the shame. His elder brother is believed to be dead, killed while serving as an officer during an expedition in the Imperium's service.
Caesar has no problems with the concept of the Imperium and the military conquests of old, which at least appears to be the primary concern of the Veritas. Rather he is primarily concerned with the destruction of the current senate and the creation of equal rights for all races within the Imperium.
There is some overlap in their causes, which may at some point be of use, but I will simply leave it as a possible hook and see what comes of it.
Hello there, I'm new in this forums. I came here because I was told that a growing 4E community was developing here.
You'll have to tolerate my horrible english since it's not my first language
Well it seems I'll spend the next four hours or so reading the threads, so just that, thanks for reading.
Welcome aboard Gameforged, glad to have you! Feel free to ask about anything and I am sure you will have more replies than you know what to do with within a day. As for your English frankly I respect anyone who is able to write as well as you are in another language.
