Proposal: Repeal the house rule on Icy Sweep

When we were voting on Dragon 367, I suggested an amendment to the Icy Sweep swordmage power, which says that you can slide an enemy to be adjacent to you. My problem was that, as written, this would let you slide him in a spiral, or back and forth across the battlefield, to hit as many traps and hazards as possible before reaching you, so I proposed adding "you must slide by the shortest available path".

I just realized this missed a situation: suppose I'm trying to get an enemy adjacent to me so it can't use its devastating ranged attacks, but there's a 10' pit along the shortest path. As written, I have a choice - slide him over the pit, giving him a save to fall prone and stop all movement, or slide him around, foregoing the chance of damage for the sure thing of putting him adjacent to me. With the amendment, I have to slide him over the pit.

So now I think the amendment was too limiting, and we should just depend on the DM to disallow abuses.

YES from me. As Renau1g says, fewer houserules makes things easier.

YES. I wouldn't say anything else, but enworld doesn't like 3 character posts.
