-''Yeah, I guess her plan can work. We can give it a shot.''

Shava's diplomacy skill is awesome but this will call for a bluff and hers is 'only' +6...
But if she's willing to risk it, I'll play along. Brenron is reasonably tough as controllers go, he can take 1 round ahead of the party if it comes to that.
This is when a doppelgagner/changling would be handy
That's good enough for me.
The adventurers begin to approach the location of the Dancing Kobold. The streets of Sharn's Welcome are busy, even with the light drizzle going on around them. Tamarand sees an elf in the alleyway across from their destination. The drow recognizes the elf as a form of the changeling that offered them drugs earlier that day. She gestures toward the drow to come over, even as his companions move toward the "bar"
Brenron and Shava move towards the door of the Dancing Kobold. A crudely drawn sign adorns the door. It says: "Ovur 100,000 surved" The windows and shaded and they rattle with a steady beat. Upon your approach, a board slides out from the door, about three feet off the ground. Strange music comes from within, a voice speaks, barely heard above the noise, "What, choo want. Why you here?"
"Oh you can be assured, there is going to be plenty of head bashing." Shava said with a smile to Brenron. "If we think this is a large complex, possibly with underground levels, I don't advise splitting up for more than a minute, it could quickly become much larger."
She pauses for a moment in thought. "No it seems to me, that the best thing to do would be for Brenron and myself to walk up, and convince them to let us in." Another look to the dwarf. "I should be able to manage that. As soon as the door is open, I summon up a gust of wind, pushing the guards inside with us, because of course there will be guards. Benron will make sure anyone who looks like they might flee, might not. We then hold the door, for the ten seconds it takes the rest of the group, to run in from around the corner. The door shuts and we begin our systematic removal of the threat."
OOC: Better late than never...
Roswyn nods as her friend lays out her plan. "I see you haven't lost any of your tactical acumen, Shava! Sounds like a good plan to me."
We'll do a skill challenge from here. Try what skills you will. I'm open to much of anything here. Of course, certain ones make more sense than others, so the DCs may vary a bit. 4 successes before 2 failures.

As Shava approaches she quickly unbuttons the top of her jacket, and tugs her undershirt slightly down. It may not be a kobold at the door after all.
Then the board slides, at three feet of the ground. So much for that. She drops to one knee.
"Good eve. We want in. Why else would we be?"
It was not the first time she had to deal with gruff kobolds, they were naturally suited to a few jobs on a ship, and she knew that flowery language was not the best way to seem friendly.
Tamarand walks towards the elf/changeling and does his best to have a friendly smile on his face as he does. "Ah, I am sorry about earlier today, I snapped at you out of place. I know you are a person of many skills, and even though I still don't need any of your 'special' talents, for now anyways, maybe there's something I can ask of you?" the drow whispers, jingling his coin purse for added effect.
Rohna covers her crinkled and rocky grin with her shield as the drow tries to make a face the goliath had seen from her yet.

The kobold behind the door grunts, "Why you want in? This place for kobolds." The creature slams the panel shut in the door, but Brenron notices that the creature opens up a hidden second panel up a bit higher. The hidden is only open a crack. The kobold is probably waiting to see their reaction. He gives the drow a squeeze on her elbow to let her know.
As Tamarand approaches the elf, she lets her skin darken and her hair goes pale as snow, perfectly matching a female drow in appearance. "What can I do for you dear?"

We've got 2 successes. The insight roll check by Brenron gives a +2 to Sheeva's next roll.
Tondrek, ignorant of the ways of speech and... well, most everything else... was staring blankly at the building and its surrounds. His hands moved involuntarily, and he kept on muttering something about structure and stability.
OOC: Perception while he tries to figure out other entrances/exits/etc. and see things others aren't looking at: 1d20+9=12 (not so hot)

Hmmm. . . Well I suppose its never easy. This might be the best time to try a little lie. Shava turned to her companion, pretending she didn't notice the other slot. "Oh Brenron, I'm sooo disappointed." Shava bites a pouty lip. "Daddy, really was counting on us to find a bar that played good draconic music. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to give that inheritance money to someone else. You know. . . I heard there was a new Dragonborn club on the skyway. . .
"
Certainly not my best performance ever. Hopefully, the mention of money helps smooth things over.
Rohna seems to catch on to what the kobold is trying to convey and after getting Their faces attention points to her money pouch.

"Well, tell ya what my pretty little thing, think you can change into me and go over inside that bar. Ya see, I have an errand I need to run, but it would do me well to have an alibi, you know, other people see me in a public place. What do ya say?" Tamarand asks the other "drow"
"Well, you are quite handsome," she purrs. Then her voice takes on a hard edge, "But I'm not stupid either. I know what you and your friends did to those kobolds, and I'm not walking into the club looking like you."
She bats her eyes at the sorcerer, "Perhaps we can benefit each other in a different way though. I can show you the back entrance, where the dancers go in, and in return, assuming you survive whatever you have planned, you do me a favor." The female struts around Tamarand, looking up and down his frame. When she stops at his front again, she purrs, "What to you say, deal?"

The is a loud thud behind the door, and a muffled kobold curse, and the lower panel opens again. "Boss says come in, we like gold. Just two of you, no goliath. No big chairs."

Depending on renau's/the remainder of the groups action, I'll be setting things up in the morning.
Sorry, I've been I bit out of it... I guess Roswyn was spacing out, or maybe just hiding too far from the door to get in on the action.
Only question is do we all go in the front or follow the changeling to the back? I guess I lean towards all in front, to avoid splitting the group. Alternatively, we could let Shava and Brenron go in on their own, then let them try to meet us at the back door? Not sure what we'd gain though.

"Oh what good fortune. Thank you!" Shava smiled at Brenron, and turned to the door. Little acting was necessary to be happy, at the promise of the door opening.
Her hand fell down by her side, near her dagger. She instinctively took on a more disciplined stance, in anticipation of the battle.
EDIT:
the plan
I don't think Shava has any idea of whats going on with the doppleganger. She hasn't looked back at the group for fear of giving away the ambush.
Unless, Brenron notices something, or she picks a change up with her passive perception, as soon as that door opens she's going with the original plan. Which entails an immediate Thundering Gust to clear the door. She would then expect the rest of the group to come charging in.
EDIT EDIT: Im not saying Im against splitting up. Which just need an IC way of letting me know. While all together seems more solid, there's something enticinly fun about playing the spy game, in a seedy bar, waiting for eveyone to come crashing through from the back.
