At the end of shift 1 Grryth gets up and begins streching the kinks out of his legs and arms having not moved from his spot in the past 8 hours.
He makes his way over to the kitchen area and quickly grabs some of the leftovers from the dinner Gurdis cooked earlier. After having his fill he makes his way over to Alexia and Gurdan as they prepare for their watch.
"Mornin. Twas a quite night. Nothin ta report. If ya need me I'll be catchin some shut eye now." And with that Grryth makes his way to an open spot on the floor and unpacks his bedroll and quickly is off to sleep (armor still on and axe still in hand, although it is now tucked under his makeshift pillow).
Lo-Kag relaxes from his guarding stance and yawns, opening his massive jaws wide exposing his sharp teeth. Right in the middle of his yawn, he coughs. A bit of acid shoots out like a projectile hitting the floor a couple feet in front of him. Lo-Kag watches as the floor sizzles for a bit. "Oops, that's going to leave a mark. I must be more careful while I'm inside such the house of such a hospitable host." Lo-Kag then slides down to the floor where he was once standing guard. "I'll rest as well here." He too grips his weapon just in case it's needed in a moments notice. Within in a minute or two he falls asleep.
Hey all, please look at the map below and let me know where you are when you are asleep. Gurdis is obviously in her bedroom (I have chosen not to include her token as of yet), and I have Grryth in his corner. Please let me know where you are when you are on shift (I'm not forcing you to stay in one square, just a general idea), and where you are when you sleep. For shift 2+ instead of me just telling you how your shift went, I'd like to see a bit more action. Tell me what your character does and I'll respond to your actions if anything happens. THANKS! (and thanks for dealing with me as I adjust my DM styles. This is my first PbP and first time DMing 4e!)
LOL, I don't have very many images for MapTools yet (always looking for more), so I threw in there what I had available. It made me laugh when I looked at it in comparison to everything else too!
Alexia starts her shift by washing her face and donning her armor. She then grabs the chair at the west end of the table, drags it to a place where it won't be hit by direct sunlight throughout the day, and sits in it. Having done this, she pulls out her lute and begins practicing a song. It's slow and somewhat discordant.
"So, Gurdan," she asks, not looking up from her lute, "you say you fought in the war?"
Already mostly ready for battle, Gurdan takes out his shield and begins examining it, searching for any cracks that might be more than cosmetic. Satisfied, he straps it on, and sits in a sort of crouch, well practiced by those who fight in wars and must be ready to fight at a moment's notice, even though the majority of their time is spent in waiting.

"Yes, Gods curse it!" Gurdan nearly spits. Anger and frustration flash across his face, but a moment later, both are gone.
"I'm sorry, lass," he says, clearly embarassed. "I forget myself. Wish I could forget the war," he says, smiling ruefully at his choice of words. "You see this shield?" It has clearly seen a lot of action. "For every notch, every scratch, every crack, two or more of my fellows died. That is the sum total of what the war means to me."
"But I am being rude, forgive me. What brought you here?"
At around 7am, Gurdis wakes up and begins cooking breakfast for everyone who is awake. (OOC: If you were on shift 1 and want to stay awake, make an Endurance Check, DC 15. Everyone except for those who were just on shift 1 can be awake if they want to be without the endurance check.) The stove crackles and pops with the sound of bacon, ham and griddle cakes.
Perception 15
She pulls out a green bottle and pours a thick clear substance into the bowl of griddle cakes before stirring it up and putting the batter on the fryer.
After everything is done cooking, she serves breakfast to those who are awake.
"G'mornin' all! I be makin' ye a bit o'breakfast. I got bacon 'n'ham'n' some fluffy pan cakes fer ya. Who wants what?" She plops down several platters of meat and pancakes on the table, letting you serve yourselves.
ooc
So besides Alexia and Gurdan, who all is awake and eating breakfast? Who is eating what? Also, I still need a stat block for Grryth please
Occ: Where is the gem? in a pot on the fireplace (F19) or on the stove (E1)? Also is it possable to be in the grassy area outside when not on shift or do we have to stay inside?
Grryth is asleep and not eating anything right now.
Statblock

The gem is in a pot hanging in the fire in the fireplace at F19. When not on shift, you can do whatever you'd like. When you are ON shift, you can do whatever you'd like. Just keep in mind that certain actions have certain consequences. If you want to climb Gurdis's house and sleep on the roof, you can do so, just keep in mind that anything outside will have an easy time spotting you unless you are ridiculously stealthy.
"Yer all t'be welcome fer sure! I just be glad as a'pig'n'mud that yer here protectin' what be mine! Breakfast be the least o'what I c'n be doin' fer th'lotta ya."
Gurdan
Gurdis whispers back "It be a fam'ly secret. A special syrup ferm th'Mror Holds it be! I be gittin' a batch o' this e'ery time I be headin' home! Could sell it fer a few dragons, but it jus' tastes so good!"
For any and all who eat the pancakes
Dwarven cooking... what can one say? When your entire clan has a stomach of iron, hard CONCENTRATED alcohol is included in everything. For those that have a weak constitution, the pancakes
For any and all who eat the pancakes
hit the stomach kinda hard. It's filling for sure, but you start to feel a bit woozy (slowed; save ends. First failed save: unconcious; save ends).
"G'mornin' all! I be makin' ye a bit o'breakfast. I got bacon 'n'ham'n' some fluffy pan cakes fer ya. Who wants what?" She plops down several platters of meat and pancakes on the table, letting you serve yourselves.
Alexia's stomach growls, interrupting her music. She looks down and grins, "Heh, quiet you." She then looks up at her host and says, "That all sounds wonderful, thank you. I'd like to try some of everything, if you don't mind."
"There's no need to apologize, Gurdan," she says, continuing the conversation from before. "We all carried different memories out of the war. I suppose I was fortunate enough not to befriend those I served with," she finishes with no hint of remorse in her voice.
Pancakes...
*Sigh* I assume that was against Fort, rather than, say, AC for some bizarre reason. Well, here's the save. 18.
As Alexia eats, she seems to lose focus of what she is saying and starts swaying a little. A moment later she shakes her head, re-centers herself, and continues eating. She grins up at Gurdan's challenge. "Hah! You've never had the things I've eaten, friend. This is nothing compared to some of my meals during the war. Although this one is certainly better tasting," she adds hastily.
Seeing no reason not to eat the pancakes Lord Jarot digs in. Fort defense is 14 if he gets a save roll=7 gee I hope I did that wrong fort defense-10+1d20 right? and i'm not sure if is unconscious or not
If aware he will be recovering around space F2
Lo-Kag stirs from his deep sleep and gets up. "Did I miss anything?"
