July 2009 - What are you watching and hearing?

What are you watching and hearing?

(Let's add music to this thread.)

Only catching a couple of the blockbusters, and pushed back my restart date for Netflix, but I'm going to be seeing a new play called Hope VI by Nambi E. Kelley.

Just saw Cheap Trick, Poison and Def Leppard at the SPAC. Very good show.

Also listening to Lady Gaga and NOW 31 (40 but forver young )

Laying low on the movie scene as I need to recover from the concert and family trip to Niagra Falls in June.

Listening to Natalie Merchant and 10,000 Maniacs.

Rekindled my love for them after hearing Merchant sing on a track in an episode of Alias season 1, which I'm working my way through. Garner looks and acts so much better than she did in Elektra.

Avatar: The Last Airbender - Season 1 is on Netflix Watch Instantly, and with the way I have my PC rigged to my tv, I've been watching a lot more Netflix stuff than before. (It's also got all the original Voltron episodes).

I've been rewatching Season 4 of Star Trek: Deep Space 9.

As for listening ... currently NPR, but I have been listening to all sorts of things of late -- my musical tastes are rather ... eclectic...

Sneaking something in from June, I got to see Mark Seymour (ex Hunters & Collectors frontman) play live in my city and it was great. I've been a fan of his work for 15+ years and it was great to finally see him live.

Current music... I picked up the first Sam Roberts full CD (he has 3), "We were born in a flame". This guy is really good, in my limited experience I'd call him one of the bright lights in the Canadian indie rock scene.
