Yes, they were the same suits from that episode. The only difference was the helmets had open face shields so you could see the actors faces. Otherwise they were identical (I'd just watched that episode earlier that day so I saw where they came from.) I believe the rogue Asgardians were using "borrowed" Ancient EVA suits to begin with. Even their ships were Ancient in design as they looked nothing like Asgard ships but more like upscaled puddlejumpers. If they were true Asgard ships, they would have just beamed McKaye and Jackson out of the hidden lab instead of assaulting it.

Certainly. I expect they will be using the suits quite a bit, and training more people makes sense. They should definitely start cross training everyone in different fields. TJ should have at least a half dozen students getting medic training in their spare time.

I think there's still some thought that everyone is just biding their time until Rush and Eli find them a way to get home, even though I very much suspect that's the furthest thought from Rush's mind. They may not be at the point yet where they have fully come to grips with the idea that they are in it for the long haul. I mean, we in the audience knows it, but that's just because we know it would be a very boring show otherwise.

Strangely I think I'd be okay with having a PC die by a bear exploding out of his head.

so i'll admit i only passivly watch this show in the background while i'm doing other stuff. having said that, a couple episodes ago, didn't it close with a shuttlecraft taking off from the ship -- did i miss what resulted from that? Or did they not address it yet?

That fact aside, I am more or less a stargate neophyte. I mean, i've seen the occasional episode and movie here and there, but couldn't recall any greater-mythology details. For the most part, I haven't had trouble following along. Though some things did confuse me though after an episode or so I'd see the connection (i.e. the message stones, one episode they simply showed the body switch but didn't explain, then in the later episode they explained, etc.). It's been a decent show so far, at least as much as I've been able to watch it anyway. I'm having trouble keeping track of all the support character, but I figure if I paid more attention than I currently am, I'd be able to follow it better...

It has yet to be addressed.

No, they only had two pilots, so Young or Scott had to be one of the 17 people on the shuttle. Young wasn't going; he chose to sacrifice himself to stay behind.

Same motivation this episode -- Young & Scott are among the only ones with EVA experience, so Young chose to go -- thus putting himself at risk rather than another person.

Same thing in the pilot -- Young was the last one through the gate. He has always put himself at risk to spare the folks in his command. I get the feeling it's a character trait.
