New Avatar trailer

New Dances with Smurfs trailer. Or do you prefer Dances with Gungans?

Avatar Feature Trailer - Trailer Addict

My friends are dissing this movie, but I think it looks fun.

The first trailer I saw for this movie wasn't that impressive. I think this one is. Looks good to me.

The story looks weak, but the visuals are very nice. I'm sure I'll see it.

Wow! That looks pretty cool!

Although Dances with Smurfs is pretty funny, I hope it is a bit more then that. Even if it's not, the visuals do look very stunning, and probably worth watching...

Does look cool. But the hinted at story looks equally tired and inane.

But if the crux of the movie is one of "we're pillaging a planet of its resources, the natives are resisting, so we must neutralize them" then I have no interest in paying theater prices to see it.

You forgot the key bit, where one of us has to go over to the other side and inspire the natives to resist the invasion, while wooing one of the native maidens (since the person going over must be male), so that the natives can be all that they can be - as long as they're led by one of us.

The only thing more fun than actual colonialism is intellectual colonialism.

Colonialism is what saved me from a life of eating poi... and really fresh mahi-mahi. Hmmm, you win some, you lose some.

And now, my reactions to the Avatar trailer:

"No blood for Cavorite!"

(or magnetic monopoles, or room temperature superconductors, or whatever it was making those islands all floaty)

"It's Dances with Colonial Marines!"

"When does Final Fantasy XIII come out?"

(That said, I'll see it opening weekend, if the theater down the street from me shows it in digital 3D)
