Yeah. They used to get around that with the "fixed point in time" technobabble but they don't do that any more. But all of it's the past for the Doctor, so every alien stopped is altering history.

They're definitely doing the "teaching history" part of Doctor Who, aren't they? I agree that the Doctor was just a bystander in this episode. All they did is witness events.

By "before" you mean in a different system. I guess if you value your gut reaction over actual play experience, there's not really much to debate, is there? You're right - you the way you feel about this game you haven't played yet is how you feel. :)

99% of the time the damage type won't matter, so you can deduct the SOAK from the total. The STR bonus applies to his base damage, not to the exploit, so it goes to the bunt damage should that info be needed. The times it will matter are if the target has SOAK to only blunt or only fire, in which case it could only reduce those portions of the total.

Because it occurs to me, as an ironically curious consequence of that, that if WotCís goal was hypothetically to sell books to you specifically, opening the DMsG has therefore lost them sales rather than gained them.

Generally speaking, SOAK (and immunities etc.) have to apply to all damage types. The non-SOAKing of armour is slightly awkwardly phrased, though, I'll admit! Basically, if you have *been* poisoned (gas, food, atmosphere, etc.), armour isn't going to help you. If the poison is on a weapon, then sure, armor will help. It's all about the delivery system.

I make that 14 DEFENSE. 3d6 is 11. 4d6 is 14. SOAK and DEFENCE are two different things. DEFENCE is how hard it is to hit you. SOAK is how much damage your armour lets you ignore.

Yikes. No, you don't roll it. Your SPEED is 6: 3(d6) + 2(d6) + 1(d6). it's the *size* of your dice pool, not a roll of your dice pool. Your CLIMB is 3 (half your SPEED without the running added on, rounded up).

My wife and I have been hosting our gaming group for the last 7 years and have been gaming together for the last 10 years. I enjoy most aspects of RPGs and also most genres.

Professionally, I have been an editor for RPG products from Dog Soul Publishing, Behemoth 3, and Sammichcon Creations. Our group has been together for eight years now. At one point, we had eight members. With people going to school, taking breaks from gaming, etc, we are now down to a core group of four, which consists of myself (aged 34), my wife (32), and two brothers (one is 30 and the other 29) who have been with the group the longest. We are currently looking for a new person (possibly people) to bring into the group. We just started playing Pathfinder and I am DMing as well as playing an NPC to round out the group. We game at my house in Council Bluffs every Saturday from 3:30 pm to between 9pm and 10pm. We also have a 7 year old son, so if you wanted to bring your kid, they'd have someone to play with.

My Game Details
Town:
Council Bluffs
State:
Iowa
Country:
USA
Game Details:

And I just got this from Mike Schley's site: As you may already know, the new D&D adventure Out of the Abyss sees it's worldwide release today. To celebrate, I've created a coupon for returning customers that can be applied to any digital downloads in the shop. Just enter the coupon code Removedduring checkout and get 15% off your entire purchase. Bonus: You can use it as many times as you'd like before it expires on September 30th. Sharing the dude's coupon sort of takes away his reward to repeat customers.

Next time an adventure comes out that Mike worked on. Wait until the official release day.
