They're real, and give awesome customer service. Maybe the website is playing silly burgers? They are very small and part time so not the immediate answers you get from full time people. And it is the weekend. Any way I summon you, Tsathogga, in all your vile glory froggie Or you could try Bill@talesofthefroggod.com

We do sandbox adventures as well as anyone I think. What I am seeing as a trend so far is Quests of Doom III or even the same plus some very short side lairs etc. maybe sets of 1-2 encounter adventures similar to book of lairs. Continuing the Quests of Doom series is a great idea and I hope that is what you guys opt to do. So far, Lycanthropes & Elementals and Bugs & Blobs have been my favorites so I hope to see those sets continued. Iím not sure what is meant by side lairs but a series of short encounters would be good, especially if they can be set-ups/hooks for bigger adventures. Most of our stuff is "think, hack, and slay", with my own writing heavy on think. The role players out there should read our "men and monstrosities" chapter. The puzzle folks should read ants and Oasis in the bugs and blobs set, as well as all the Demons and Devils series. Let me know what you think about QOD 1-2 so far. I ran Bad Moon Rising over the weekend and my players and I had a blast. As we ...

Necromancer/Frog God sales of 5e are good. We have out PFGRP and OSR schedule planned--but what would you guys want us to make for 5e? Quests of Doom 3? Lost Lands setting stuff? What if we redid PF and SW modules for 5e? 6 at a time for $25 or 12 at a time for $40? I don't want to do softcovers for $10 each--they just don't stand up over time, and we library bind our hardcovers so they last for years. Big names? (higher cost) or FGG/Necromancer writers (less cost)? Not adventures? If not, then what? Bill and Crew A supplement that prices magic items in the DMG. If that can't be done, then a system of pricing items in the DMG . Along with magic item shops that can be placed into campaigns. Perhaps some advice on how to use magic item shops within the campaign (common mistakes, how to limit easy availability of powerful magic, etc).

Always email me if you have an issue. We try to get them fixed as soon as we see them. Bill@talesofthefroggod.com There are only 3 of us dealing with customer service (and we all have day jobs and kids), but we usually hit them at least once a day. Bill I was taken care of very promptly! Note to anyone with a hotmail or gmail account, make a yahoo account. Those emails went through fine. I order both volumes of Quests of Doom tonight. Some great adventures in there! I can't wait to have the books in hand.

ps--history shows that softcovers sell VERY poorly to stores for us. Bang for buck for customers is bad too ($10/32 pages instead of 120 pages for $25 hardcover). I'm the owner of Battleground Games & Hobbies (currently two stores in Massachusetts). For what it's worth, I can say the the climate is VERY different than when you were publishing softcovers in the 3 - 3.5 era. There were just too many things to choose from back then. It seemed that everyone with a color printer was producing D20 stuff. As of this moment, people are really itching for adventures. There just isn't much out there, and Necromancer stuff was always at the top of the heap. How about another run at Rappan Athuk for 5e? :) I don't think it matters much what form it takes (hardcover, softcover, box set, etc.), but adventures are what we need!

Big names? (higher cost) or FGG/Necromancer writers (less cost)? Not adventures? If not, then what? Bill and Crew One thing i realized is that, of your two Quests books, the majority of adventures are 7th level and over. A more solid block of 1st through 4th level adventures would be ideal, especially because it seems things are trickier to balance in 5e at low levels, and a good 4 or 5 adventures for 1st/2nd/3rd level would be nice to have in the quiver. Keep up the good work, gents and/or ladies!

Keep piling on. My email is bill@talesofthefroggod.com We plan to add 1-2 more books this year. Specific "what you want (type, size, price, who writes it) is what I need to know. The thing I miss the most from pre 5e is a large source of generic short adventures that I could throw into my campaign. I tend to run a sandbox style campaign and like to jave 3-4 open hooks that my players can choose to follow at anytime. When I had a DDI subscription old Dungeon magazine advenures were perfect for this, especially when combined with the index so I could look up adventures by level. Id have hooks for one or two level appropriate adventures, a couple that are harder and maybe one that is way above the party level. So my suggestion: a quarterly or semiannually published hard cover containing a handful of unconnected adventures by various designers. Keep them short (1-3 sessions each).

Reviews welcome and encouraged, that being said, Merric did assist a bit in editing, so someone else should do it! Bill ps--what do you guys think of my ant adventure! Skimmed it, loved it, planning to use it. Don't know if the players will bite the hook but it's great to have it ready.

For those of you who missed the kickstarter--we will be going to press in a couple weeks--Pre-orders are available now. We will not be overprinting by more than a couple hundred units--so if you want these books--I strongly advice you to order soon! Once sold out, they are likely to remain sold out. And remember all Frog God books come with free PDF, and are all of a very high standard of construction. They won't be losing pages like my PHB! And I can't stress how great customer service from these guys is. I missed the Sword of Air kick starter and was keen to get the recently released PDF which only ks backers had. So Bill, trusting that I was going to buy the physical product just added to PDF to my account. How great is that!? And yes I ordered the SoA books last night Bill, ☺

We hate being late, but sometimes quality just overrides schedule:) If you did not get your link, please email us at bill@talesofthefroggod.com and we will hook you up! Bill Soon, as in days, for the Spell book and Adventure? yay

Ping Krista at bill@talesofthefroggod.com...we will fix you right up. Bill Webb Thanks! I just sent the email now, so hopefully I'll see something soon. By the way, though one of my players is annoyed cause his PC keeps getting knocked unconscious, the other players are enjoying it. So good book so far! [Except for the missing pages. ;)]

  • 08:32 AM - Jake Johnson quoted froggie in post Necromancer Games - 3 5E books announced!
Only $1100 to ten more monsters and $6100 to a third book. We will be posting previews at some point over the next 3-4 weeks. Steve is working with the authors right now on the adventures--maps and art have been contracted (waiting to order them until the authors are done). There is a ton of new material in the spell and adventure book. The monsters may be a bit redundant with Tome of Horrors, but many new ones are going in a as well. Keep spreading the word! We are almost funded for that spellbook! Wait, isn't the Book of Lost Spells unlocked at $45,000? If so, as of this writing, we still need $10,759 to unlock it. The project has currently raised $34, 241. I hope we get there. I'm backing all three books, and eagerly awaiting them. My table is full, and they're ready to take on as much old school style 5E role playing material as they can get.

  • 01:37 PM - ExploderWizard quoted froggie in post The Beauty of OD&D
The other thing is that kids (I am a huge supporter of getting kids into the hobby) can figure out the rules and then focus on what they are doing in the game; rather than what their character CAN do, they focus on what their character WILL do. This isn't just a feature for kids. The simple characters makes interacting with the game world in the first person so much easier. Less analysis paralysis when making decisions and worrying about what ability you forgot about last round.
