My great grandmother made Mardi Gras costumes and ball gowns, often with hand-sewn beading. She taught my mom how to sew, who, while not as proficient, is good enough to do pro-level work. She in turn taught me. I’m not a pro by any stretch of the imagination, and I’ve done some serious fabrication. Let me assure you, given the kind of materials for the suit and mask; the number, size and...

I actually noted that at the end of my first post here. The making the sphere thing was just me examining the limits of Fabricate. So I was saying you could make a product with just ruby dust, just like you could with wood. But what you could make from it would be limited, and you couldn’t change the dust from one mineral to another.

Immaterial (no pun intended)- the CF spell just needs ruby dust, not ruby gems. And ruby itself comes in many grades. Here’s a 35mm polished sphere made from low grade ruby: Not that visually impressive, and possibly less expensive than spheres of similar size made from other minerals.

Considering her doing some of the work on a balcony and the demo in an exterior walkway- both of which look like they were parts of a residential building- I’m saying it’s an apartment. Now, it is entirely possible she could have the CN¥ to have a second apartment that’s been converted into a workshop. None of those power tools is cheap, after all.

As I watched that video, I kept thinking about 2 things: 1) although I like him, I have always had a problem with Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man, because of all the amount of hands-on engineering and science innovation he’d have to do to get his web shooters to work. (Not to mention, sophisticated sewing skills.) And this girl’s apartment is a perfect illustration of the issue: it’s full of...

Yeah, I figured I should include the 5Ed version, just in case. I would suspect- from the examples given- that Fabricate works on more than one material at a time. Clothes are made with more than wool or cotton, for example, because of the dyes and threads. Though it’s possible to build bridges with just wood, usually there is use of metal nails and/or rope.

Hmmm...The 3.5Ed version: The 5Ed version: I would say if you could use Fabricate to make a ball of wood from sawdust, you could make a marble of ruby from ruby dust. Maybe from corundum dust (rubies being red-colored corundum). Not from any other material, though, not even another mineral. Thing is...the 3.5Ed and 5Ed versions of CF just require 50gp of ruby dust, so, Fabricate...

With a class that size? First, I know it may sound a tad wargamey, but one solution would be to tailor your campaign scenarios and pre-gens to ones that can accommodate larger groups: caravan defense, a raid in enemy supply lines, etc. Second, you could break the class up into teams of 4-5. Having done that, you could either: 1) run each group through the same simplified adventure,...

Don’t like “Geek Pantheon” because Greece doesn’t exist in your game world? “Olympian” has the same issue- Olympus, the home of the Greek gods, was on Mount Olympus, a particular mountain in Greece. My advice is to ditch the RW names as completely as you can, and substitute...

I have an idea on how to explain Drogon's dominance this episode. Euron only managed to get three scorpions constructed and their crews trained. The ones that killed Rhaegal. The rest of the scorpions were literal cardboard cutouts. Dany figured it out because she is also a cardboard cutout this season.

Making ridiculously high jump kicks and stuff. Thanks for reminding me about Space: Above and Beyond. That show had one of the best plot twists when they find out why the aliens were attacking them.

Did I really just see northmen killing unarmed soldiers and civilians just because Grey Worm went crazy? Like, were those former Bolton men, or what? Jon was right there and they just go in and slaughter people without even waiting for his command? What?

Um, long time listener, lots of time caller - Isn't it about time to start another thread?? Didn't there used to be a cap on page count somewhere in the low 200 range? There was a cap in the past due to the servers being of limited capacity, however there has been a complete overhaul of Morrus' equipment and there is no longer a need to cap out at 1000 even. trappedslider: nice dice!

but....but then who did I kill in the dining room with the rope and colonel Mustard? You killed Colonel Mustard, remember? You tripped and hit your head on the pipe wrench. Twice. And somehow accidentally got the rope wrapped around the Colonel's neck thirteen times while you were unconscious... (Not that I'd know firsthand, or anything.. Because I definitely wasn't there, and certainly wasn't the one who sent the video to the police...) In other news, I went down to the car dealership yesterday to get the dealer plate taken off and my regular plates put on... Only to discover that some knucklehead had hijacked the dealer plate off the back of my car sometime in the previous day and a half while I wasn't looking... I hadn't parked it anywhere where I would have needed to approach it from behind, so I had no idea the damn thing was gone. Fortunately the dealership is the owner of the plate, so they get to go file the official report and deal with that crap.

Avengers: Endgame directors answer Captain America mystery Avengers: Endgame explained: The logic behind the heroes' master plan Hmm - so Steve went to another dimension to stay with Peggy (and presumably have lots of adventures that didn't happen in his home dimension) . . . and then came back to his home dimension to have his chat with Sam. Presumably that means Peggy still died, chronologically speaking, at roughly the same time she did in Steve's home dimension . . . but that again means that Steve has permanently (or is it?) left a dimension full of a lifetime of friends for one where he's only close to a handful of people???

The Russos admitted that some of what was in the trailers was fake, and you can noticed that in certain scenes like when every one comes to watch Captain Marvel brings Tony home Peper was edited out for the trailer. It made an interesting switch that they didn't do any set-up for that rescue. The mid-credits scene from Captain Marvel set up her arrival in Avengers Endgame, but with previous movies you'd expect to see the scene again within the new movie. Instead, we cut straight to her finding Stark and Nebula.

Anthony Mackie wanted to wear the red and white outfit when he took the part of falcon lol I was referring to the awful looking cap suit he got in the comics along with the shield.

Anthony Mackie wanted to wear the red and white outfit when he took the part of falcon lol Well this is a spoiler thread so no need to hide anything I'm not wanting to go too far into the spoilers yet (I've held out for a little while at least already) until at least Friday and Saturday, or others spoil it first. Not wanting to be the one who really spoils it for someone who think they want to find things out, but didn't really want to know. The thing I put down though, was something I think was interesting. Most of those I saw stayed in their seats waiting for a scene that never came. I was caught in the middle so I couldn't get out without disturbing all of them. The even crazier thing...I managed to not have to go to the restroom until after the entire movie ended. For those as old as me, you know how hard that can be...and this is a long movie.

If you read this thread, you forfeit any right to complain about being spoiled. I knew that RDJ was going to go,but I didn't expect him to die and it was cool to see Cap pass the torch onto Sam, and all the little call backs to previous movies, and the confirmation that Cap is indeed worthy to hold Mjolnir. The last fight with everyone joining in was awesome and the all female grouping got a big cheer at my showing. When Clint and Nat going after the soul stone, I wasn't surprised it came down to a fight between them over who got to jump. I thought that it should have been the other. Yes, the one that didn't jump had those to go to if they were successful, but I'd still think the other should have been sacrificed instead of who was. On a side note, it is interesting how many waited to try to see if there was an end credits scene. Marvel has trained them well. I'll try to hide the next part, sorry if you are on the black screen instead of white. PS: There were no scenes in the cre...

as for Earp..I have to be in the right mood to watch it which doesn't happen often lol Oh ... on that, I watched the first season, and there were times I thought, "Man, this could be good." And then? It not only didn't get good, it just kept getting worse.O Oof. It kind of reminds me of Earth:Final Conflict (show from the 90s). If you never heard of it, it was one of those syndicated scifi shows, like Andromeda. Anyway, the first season was actually really good and promising, especially given the scifi wasteland of the time. But then they 1) killed off the main character (!!!), and 2) completely changed the direction and tone of the show, and it became so very, very bad.

But it did end in a good place Yes, mostly. Kind of. I mean, the ending was good-ish. Much better than a show that didn't have a planned (possible) ending. But still ... I would have loved to see the "re-boot." What's your issue with it? It's .... not compelling enough? I don't know how to put my finger on it, but for the most part, this is a show that has all sorts of issues that I want explored, and it just feels ... undercooked. I mean, I guess there's a season 4, and I'll watch it, but it's not a show that I get super excited about. I want it to be better than it is, I guess? I genuinely like some of the characters, for example (the Trade Minister, John Smith) and there are times that it can be good, but it's just- It feels like, for the most part, it has the trappings of prestige TV but missed something of the core. It has neither the pleasure of true genre TV nor the depth of true great TV, but lingers somewhere in between? It's still good, I just wish it was better. EDITED TO ADD...

Ghost Fleet: A Novel of the Next World War by P. W. Singer (Author), August Cole (Contributor) I read it a few years ago. It is a pretty bad novel. It is an ad for rail guns and the zumwalt warship by defense consultants. The premice is interesting, China attacks the US and wins because X, Y and Z, but the execution, the characters, the plot are all pretty terrible.

Oh my taffy scotch, .. .. ..that sounds incredibly delicious. Remember when I said this? .. .. ... So if this one works out I'll be cookin some Popeye's chicken.this sounds incredibly delicious too I saw a Vermont license plate yesterday and thought of you.I was in the hospital from Sunday to Friday An I thought of you too. but our aim is getting better! Horse shoes, grenades and nudes will work if close enoughatom bomb too. you can be close with an atom bomb an hit the target. Part of that depends on how ornery the patient is. My maternal grandmother lived with cancer a decade after getting a “6 month to live” diagnosis. She was such a tough old bird, I think Death kept deliberately misplacing his appointment reminders. Think of that Twilight Zone episode with Robert Redford, but with RR finding his interests in Urban Pigeon Beauty Pageants to be far more pressing business...I spent the week hanging on to life at the local VA.

Well, Production won't start till after Suicide Squad 2 so...it's a non factor...https://www.newsarama.com/44331-james-gunn-returning-to-direct-guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-3-after-suicide-squad-2.html I was not referring to the scheduling of shooting. When Gunn was hired by Warner Bros for Suicide Squad 2, it was with the belief his ties with Disney/Marvel was over. The worry many fans/you-tubers I have read/seen is that should Warner Bros. still trust Gunn with an $100 Million dollar plus film and its success when they know he is back with working in the MCU, their rivals. The conflict of interest: making the best film for DC while ready to make the best film for Marvel. Does James Gunn have the skills to do both successfully? Yes. But the element of a potentially making a failure is there.

*Ahem* Side bar...X-files problem was the fact that no one including Chris Cater had any idea as to where he wanted to go...https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheChrisCarterEffect Yeah, I skipped the last few seasons of "X-Files" and didn't bother with the second of the new seasons. "Lost" was also one of the shows that suffered from this. By the third episode I already thought that I had figured out what was going on (proved to be right at the end of the series) and, with all of the crap going on circling, but not actually touching on that premise, I tired and stopped watching early in the second season.
