I often think it's too easy to get into the TARDIS. A TARDIS is supposed to be the most advanced type of ship in the universe, so teleporting onto it shouldn't be easy. I wonder if she gave Kerblam! permissions or something?

Great list! I agree with you on Forgetful and Spendthrift. You can use skills with any attribute as long as the GM agrees, so intimidation and Disfigured would be a good combo for a strong character. A STR (intimidation) check with the disfigured trait would be a good combo.

99% of the time the damage type won't matter, so you can deduct the SOAK from the total. The STR bonus applies to his base damage, not to the exploit, so it goes to the bunt damage should that info be needed. The times it will matter are if the target has SOAK to only blunt or only fire, in which case it could only reduce those portions of the total.

Generally speaking, SOAK (and immunities etc.) have to apply to all damage types. The non-SOAKing of armour is slightly awkwardly phrased, though, I'll admit! Basically, if you have *been* poisoned (gas, food, atmosphere, etc.), armour isn't going to help you. If the poison is on a weapon, then sure, armor will help. It's all about the delivery system.

I make that 14 DEFENSE. 3d6 is 11. 4d6 is 14. SOAK and DEFENCE are two different things. DEFENCE is how hard it is to hit you. SOAK is how much damage your armour lets you ignore.

  • 09:32 AM - mdusty quoted Marius Delphus in post Ever thought of getting Battlebards or Syrinscape to produce soundscapes for Zeitgeist?
I can't help but think that the soundtrack for the old CRPG Arcanum might be appropriate. http://www.terra-arcanum.com/downloads/ (in the "Arcanum" category). I use these tracks quite frequently when they are in Danor or dealing with any Danorans, along with other types of old chamber music. It feels more 'French'. While in Risur or Flint, I run the standard RPG music like Skyrim and Morrowind and Witcher 3 or Assassin's Creed soundtracks along with the Sherlock Holmes soundracks. I usually play some kind of Russian themed music while dealing with Drakrans like Heid or Kvartiy - like Hunt for Red October or variations of Kalinka, and Spanish guitar music with Berans, like the Grientos or Harkover. I always play the Godfather soundtrack when they talk to Cippiano or have any dealings with the Family. With Clergy, I run The Divinci Code and Angels & Demons soundtracks. Any dungeons or 'scary' moments, I have a Cthulu soundtrack I run. During 'Always on Time' I always had 1920's jazz piano musi...

After thinking it over I wound up making some substantive edits to my post. Please read the edited version and I apologize if I was being or sounding accusatory. No worries, friend. M&M3e is my 'go-to' system for Supers. I think I'll stick with it for that genre. Still, W.O.I.N. seems to hit a sweet spot for all the rest. I'll continue using it for both my Apocalyptic Weird Western and my Fantasy Steampunk setting. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

  • 03:04 AM - Gecko85 quoted Marius Delphus in post Can someone please explain to me why there are still no PDFs for 5e core books?
Please be aware that "fair use" (as that term is defined by copyright law) does not apply to "acquiring" illegal PDFs, nor does owning a physical copy of the book make having a copy of an illegal PDF any less a copyright violation. I'm all for the idea of having an electronic version of the 5E books myself, but let's not delude ourselves into thinking there's some kind of legal loophole or excuse that makes illegal PDF copies any less illegal. Technically you may be right, just as technically it was illegal to record an album you owned on vinyl to cassette so you you could listen to it in the car back in the day. Or for a more modern take, it may not technically be legal to rip your DVD and Blu-Ray movies to a hard drive for use in your media center. The concept of fair use with regards to platform shifting is, and always has been, murky.

(I think I only tuned in because he was in it, but still.) That seemed to improve his mood, and he talked animatedly about Adam's career. At length he became restless. He asked whether we had a long hook with which to drag the current presenter off the stage. "He's killing my audience." "Don't worry," I said. His presence was actually meant to be a surprise for the audience. "Once they find out it's you, standing ovation." Finally it was his ...

It's all done but the PDF hyperlinks. Progress stalled during the period RSV and pneumonia were having their way with me and the Delphlings, but a little work tomorrow should see it finished and ready for upload. RSV's a pain, I hear you! Thanks!
