...a bowl of Chang.[/I] R'ad Alim listens and considers, judging and deliberating...and finally, after some time he asks "I'm not sure what you're offering...do you want me to join you in some cause? To topple your khan and establish yourself? To defeat dragon shamans? This would leave my people at djondarma mercy. Or do you simply want me to join in life of banditry? You would obviously benefit from first option...but you could simply choose to forget your debt then, not dishonorably, of course, but simply because you would be too busy trying to establish the relations with other khans or force the compliance. And yet, if we go and somehow defeat dragon shamans...I would choose to free the dragons. And they may or may not choose to help. And worse, I don't even know if they would attack djonfang people. I have much to learn, but I am young. I can agree to live with you until I have better view about the future. But I will not be useful for some time as I heal from my injuries." narayan, you didn't finish with [What do you do?] and I waited for additional post...but it seems obvious from the content I need to respond :) I still haven't filled the questionnare, sorry about that, I'm going to knee therapy afterwork and thus, my whole day is filled for the last several weeks. This ends next Monday so I'll take the time to answer in peace. As you can see, R'ad Alim is stubborn and contemplative...slow and steady, but once angered or started...convinced...he is hard to stop.

With the aid of your spells (and your familiarity with the trails hereabouts) you manage to reach the monastery with unnatural haste despite the snows and other obstacles in the rough terrain. You cover the distance in about an hour (as close as you can estimate). It is now mid-afternoon, cold and grey. A chill wind blows as low laying clouds are moving in. Likely another storm will be breaking tonight, carrying with it more snow. As you approach the monastery from the rear stepping alongside a stony slope you catch a glimpse of the courtyard from above. The slavers caravan is still there. Several of the men are standing near or leaning against their carts. Though it's too far to really make out individuals, you can at least gauge their general bearing. Those men look impatient, clearly still waiting for the other four men they dispatched to capture Anoria to return. You're in luck, the last survivor of those four slavers obviously hasn't made it back yet either. Sarif:"~There mus...

  • 04:08 AM - Aust Thale quoted narayan in post Thale Occius Iceforge
~ Not looking for trouble, but in this place...perhaps it would be fun ~ Thale cracks the beginnings of a wry smile as Diago the Zoa Hero Swordsman is walking toward him. Setting his halberd in the rack adjacent to the door, Thale deftly set the latch to hold it upright while keeping one eye on Diago, sizing up why the swordsman might want Thale. He hoped it was to simply point Thale to Crote and Raeden’s table. The foyer to the tavern, if one called it that, was just big enough to hold the halberd upright. The Cutlass had a door attendant as well, usually reserved for tonier establishments, but most effective here at protecting belongings and reducing clutter in the tavern, a place that could become crowded. Crote valued his establishment. Thale took a wooden token with a symbol on it, and he handed his backpack to the attendant to put with his halberd, again, again assessing what Diago might want. He kept his coin pouch in his belt, his chain shirt under his tunic, and especially his...

They are not alarmed, I can just walk by.~" he thinks as he approaches. Still, no sense in risking discovery at the last moment. He hurries inside, but slows to normal (if brisk) pace as he comes into the view of those of the caravan. He goes inside and asks about abbots whereabouts, not trusting anyone else at the moment. He would go to the libraria...

The Crossed Cutlass Inn is a handsome, five-story structure of brick and mortared stone. Each floor features at least a dozen fine glass windows protected behind ornamental iron bars. The roof is topped in plain wood shingles, but there are also balconies at every corner (accessible only from within) that offer guests great views of the city. Mercenaries of all sorts congregate here in good numbers, as do sailors, militia, soldiers and adventurers. Of course so many armed men in one place sharing drinks tends to start trouble so the shields keep a close eye on it. Besides the main entrance the Inn has two side doors (one on either side). One is used to access the kitchen/storage, the other is used by the owner and staff to access the back rooms, the laundry and the baths. These doors are locked, and sometimes guarded by bouncers or hired mercenary guards if there is trouble afoot. (Presently in this wet weather, and given also that its daylight there are no guards standing by the side-doors)...

http://www.dawnindustry.com/Temp/Quarzi_sm2.jpg Quoso, Tanner, and even the kind folks of Sovrven who sought aid with their livestock, pets and animal friends, they were young Quarzi's tribe this day. Well, as close as the little golden halfling could get, to being part of such a thing in the traditional sense. It didn't bother her that preconceptions rarely fit. Indeed, Quoso had realized early on that this woman was very much a peculiarity. The rabbit, the affection for nature, the desire to help and her spiritually-driven yet simple view of the world. This was no druidic lass or ranger of the forests. A symptom of horrors and hardships as well as friendships and peace, a wild desire to survive and adaptability were the ingredients she'd been crafted from. Quarzi was both a shaman and a golden halfling, a mismatch if ever there was one. It didn't come down to training or the judgements of kin either. She was a product of circumstances, and though some of them were dire, they had formed in...

http://www.dawnindustry.com/Temp/Wrenwilsmallsuper.jpg The elderly priest was still chewing a fair chunk of delicious homeland bread, waving one hand about in an effort to extinguish the chaos, when he noticed the parchment. First he prodded it with the end of his staff, just to be sure it wasn't some kind of trick. Then with a little more courage, he gulped the last of his mouthful down, and stooped over to scoop up the oddity. This wasn’t a particularly fluid movement, his old bones creaking from days of travel taking their toll. Still, he was tougher than most his age. Dryly he stated, “friends, it seems Svexyn will not be present for dessert.” He read the message to his companions and shared it with them, he was quite amazed in fact. “Well, at least one of us has left bumcrack’s lair alive.” He muttered, grinning, but the rest of his face would express deep concern. “Our numbers dwindle, and this… well it is a magic I’m not acquainted with.” Wrenwil sat back down next to the glorious...

  • 06:11 AM - Aust Thale quoted narayan in post Aust Awakens & Learns of Jabbar's Demise
Avar turned away from the open cellar door with a dismayed expression. He was listening in on the raised voices that now offered little comfort. He steps back towards where Jabbar's body lay peacefully on the table, a smile still present on his face. ~I doubt you would still be smiling if you could hear them now...~ He thinks, wondering if anyone could hold this group together as well as the fallen smuggler. Elloral looks up from her prayers and sighs. "What are they talking about?" Avar: "They're arguing..." He grunts with angst evident in the nervous way he fingers the edge of his axe. Elloral: "It's to be expected. We're mostly strangers to each other after all, suddenly thrust together into a dangerous alliance. It will take time to trust each other and learn how to fight together." Avar: "I should have been by his side!" He growls with a clench of his jaw. Elloral: Shakes her head. "Don't do that! Don't blame yourself." Avar: Frowns and reaches over to pull something out of a concea...

  • 04:17 AM - 97mg quoted narayan in post Aletia: Reacting to Rodentia
[Aletia: What do you do? You have freed yourself from the cord around your ankles, but you are still Prone. Any attempt to attack or flee will provoke attacks from both the Rhats.] This was becoming extremely annoying, and scary! Three on one. No honor! It wasn't curtains yet though, the elven lass had survived the last few minutes through quick thinking and trickery... something that would need to continue. At least Crez was out of harms way for now. In slumboy form, she gasped as her poison-victim's form shifted to something akin to a rat. ~Eww! Horrible!~ That wasn't the only shift however, though Aletia's wasn't of the visible kind. With eyes to the sky beyond her foes, with pale face regarding the heavens above where her dearest Moon lived, she felt a rush of understanding, purpose and resolve. She had been deemed worthy of progress in her God's eyes, and handed a a gift... Could it help her now? As with all new things, Aletia's youth and exuberance led to quite a temptati...

__________________________________________ <Round 4> Bleeding Damage ( * ) Fire Damage ( # ) Cold Damage ( @ ) Spell Damage ( ^ ) Spell Healing ( ^ ) Poison Damage ( ! ) The order of initiative is: (19) Shelladda (-3)(1 Arrow stuck in your flesh) (3) Short Goblin (2) Tall Goblin __________________________________________ Both goblins get wide-eyed with concern as you shriek a war-cry and charge forward with your scimitar prompting a bellowing water buffalo to charge through the brush after you. The tall goblin appears to be protecting the shorter one and steps before you brandishing his shield as he reaches for his battle axe. Your sword strike misses! You will have to dispatch the tall goblin first to get at the short one, unless you are willing to step past the tall one and provoke attacks of opportunity? [Shelladda: Roll initiative for Ruddah. Next round (Round 5) you will roll a new initiative as a new combatant (Ruddah) has entered the fray. Ruddah wil...

  • 12:19 AM - Aust Thale quoted narayan in post Joseth Investigates...
You spot a local Water Buffalo (Wild Bison) grazing near a large thicket of thorny shrubs and Fever Trees. Water Buffalo's normally graze nearer to rivers, ponds and lakes in their own herds, yet this one was singular. As you peer closer you notice this is no ordinary bison, for it carries packs and a crude saddle of sorts. It is not unheard of for Wild bison to be used as mounts, but only the bravest and strongest dare to ride such strong beasts. It seems unlikely this buffalo belonged to one of the warriors escorting the herd of cattle. Horses or Mules would better suite the job, and this buffalo doesn't bare any of the usual flair of tribal decoration if it belonged to an Omoro tribesman. The cattle tracks meander through the thicket towards what could be a huge clearing on the other side. At this moment you also realize there are many vultures circling in the air above. An ominous sign. A bad feeling comes over you as a vision of an attack on the cattle herd enters your imaginatio...

  • 12:37 AM - Aust Thale quoted narayan in post Dread Marches in Sion - Act 1: Scene 1
Your travel from the village has been uneventful giving you time to think. Why was the relic taken and exactly by whom? Mgorongoron tribesman are largely superstitious and fearful of angering their god. It was doubtful any of the warriors or shepherds would risk touching the relic, much less making away with it. The village shaman had a pupil, a student, who also left with the heard to bless their endeavor and be sure there was no foul play. His name is Tiassal, someone who's viewed relic before under the guidance of the shaman. Of everyone who left with the herd, Tiassal seems the most likely thief, though in truth you know very little about him. Tiassal was one of four pupils the head shaman was currently training to watch over smaller villages. Training usually lasts about one full year. Tiassal was the newest of the pupils and had only been with the shaman for a few month's time. Kimotho and the shaman have thus far kept the fact the relic is missing a secret from the rest of the tri...

Hi Hillsy, sorry I didn't see this earlier. I got dragged back into that bloodsucking, thankless management job that took all my time/energy. I quit that last week though and starting a new job next week that will keep better hours. Shun001 is moving out of state at the end of the month and I don't expect him to continue so I am putting Dark Days in Sion on hiatus until a new plan is made for it. In the meantime I am getting Dread Marches in Sion started to see how that goes and to get back into the habit of posting again. I'm probably not gonna be as insistant about the posting schedule with that as I thought I was so if you want to join that please feel welcome! Hey dude, Glad you're out from under the Work Bootheel of DOOOM...hehe. Unfortunately I've been sucked into 3 other games now so I don't think I'll have the time to jump in. Sorry. But hey, if things change I'll let you know!

  • 11:40 AM - 97mg quoted narayan in post Aletia: Out of Bounds
[Aletia: Because of the stranger's wound, his minions are distracted and you have a chance to seize the initiative. Roll a new initiative check for round 2.] ~Yes! Yes!~ Time moves swiftly when you're struggling for your freedom, even moreso in the darkness of night. Although outnumbered, even though this was far from over, Aletia knew that the next few moments were make or break. The young elf and her familiar's future sat on a knife's edge. Heart pumping and with a glaze of fear-coated pride in her eyes, she might finally have a chance to get the upper hand. As much a part of her "self" as one's own mortal flesh, Crez the tiny viper wasn't out of the woods either. One way or another, they both had to get a move on! [Initiative Round 2 Crez = 25 - same as round 1] ~Weave, slide, slip away!~ The need to exit with haste, the primal instinct to flee, was unloaded into Crez's tiny scaly head. [Crez will flee with a full round move action. This might provoke an attack of opportunity from th...

  • 06:31 AM - 97mg quoted narayan in post Aletia: Slip and Slice
[Aletia: Make a Balance check, DC 20, to remain standing. You are no longer held by the stranger but you cannot move without freeing yourself from the leather cord around your ankles. Freeing yourself will require you to attack the Rhat holding it around your ankles, or else cutting the cord itself. What do you do?] All promises of a late night meal had been kept. Human Flesh. It wasn’t a diet that the elven girl usually encouraged for her well-loved familiar, being law abiding peaceful citizens and all. Usually poor little Crez had to make do with lower-shelf sustenance; insects, vermin or small morsels of whatever the young and spritely Aletia chose to partake of. The chance to sample something warm, fresh and living was accepted with gusto! [Stranger will need to Fort save DC 10 to avoid 1D6 loss of Constitution, and a further save in 1 minute.] She could almost taste it; the stranger’s aroma and salty skin on her lips, as Crez did all he could to tip the scales in this streetsi...

  • 02:13 AM - 97mg quoted narayan in post Aletia: Time to Run!
Aletia wasn't a pacifist. There were times when one's right to exist in peace, defend oneself or loved ones, required hard decisions. Yes, she had killed in the past, but only on rare occasions when all else had failed. Life threatening situations. The young Elf hated the spilling of blood and the vulgarity of close quarters combat. She was half decent at it though. Stemming from her Father's bloodline and with natural agility, her training had been adequate enough to see her get by. It didn’t change the fact that their was nothing attractive about being stained with blood however. She much preferred evasion or negotiation. Sometimes the bow, hunting from a distance. Taking time to prepare mentally and doing all one could do, to deliver death respectfully, swiftly and with anonymity. Well, that's what she told herself so as to be able to live with it… Walls of opportunity were closing in on this city street. Sure, no weapons were drawn yet, but the man was incessant on threatening an...

  • 11:41 AM - 97mg quoted narayan in post Aletia: Interdicted
Given the rather uneventful wander to Jabbar's shop, the elven lass had been naieve in her confidence that the return journey would be much the same. Rain, a disguise and nothing more. Magic had always been a part of Aletia's life, with subtle nuances showing from an early age. Her abilities weren't a result of deep study or pouting over parchments. Their purpose wasn't hand-picked. Indeed, it was Vallio who'd helped her understand that they were truly a gift. Gifts of Sehanine Moonbow's chosing no less, and of them, to date, divination hadn't even been touched on. Yet strangely, it had only been in the preceding moments that she'd considered... Aletia:...the potential to be targeted merely by association. One fact was looming all too clear, she’d have to keep her wits about her and proceed with great care. Essentially, if the anonymity was torn away, Burlock’s enemies might become her own. ~Already! After one step into Jabbar's abode, I am followed and threatened on the streets? I see ...

So it seems like ENWorld has done away with the personal message system. Therefore, anyone who needs to contact me should use my email instead... crowsontheskulls@gmail.com Also, Burrai and Svexyn need to post more frequently. Every player should do their best to post within 48 hours when prompted to act. (Unless their character is sleeping or otherwise indisposed while in game) If you need time off, or a break, let me know so I can write you out of a scene temporarily. This is dragging way too slowly, other PC's are waiting and its not fair to them. It pains me to do so because it really screws with the storyline, but if I must I will remove PC's from the active-roster who can't keep up. Hey, I'm normally flat out over Friday and Saturday, and sometimes Sunday if I'm doing something with the wife. Appreciate that I could do a little better with timeliness, that's totally fair, but depending on when everything falls I can realistically only definitely commit to once a week (I have time sc...
