Harb sensed a dangerous situation with these creatures. He decided a lightning strike was best for the moment, lest he find himself surrounded without support from his allies. Dashing through the grass he struck the unprepared creature hard across it's side with his quarterstaff and then in an instant was gone again, now much closer to the group. Move to JI13, Strike and then BA and 1 ki...

But then Angis was there and the goblin died with a gurgle. Dandin still wasn't sure what had possessed him to charge the greenskin in the first place. But he was still alive. Although, I wonder how Aygury would interact with the deck if we asked about the results in a specific fashion. I.e. "Would it be a good idea for character X to draw y cards from the deck?"

"As low as you are on supplies, it may be prudent to take some with us anyways. This sounds to be a hazardous journey and who knows what we may find at our destination." Harb glanced around the camp as he spoke, his eyes seeking out the true state of the situation.

As the wizard turned his back, Mord spoke quietly in response to Kalorn's suggestion. "Imami will not intervene in this matter. We will be expected to handle whatever comes our way. At best we may occasionally pick his brain for clues on how to proceed with some matters. Besides, we may need to acquire some additional supplies before we reach our true destination." Then he dismounted,...

Mord studied the wizard for a long moment then smiled approvingly. This was a man after his own heart. "Assuming that said mission was reimbursed in more than mere information, I'm sure that we could come to an arrangement. Perhaps we could speak in a more private venue?"

Dandin watched the goblin slide off of his rapier leaving the bloodied blade to gleam eerily in the light of the nearby fire. He started at the blade for a good long moment, entranced by the flickering light show. Then he heard the voices coming down the farther hallway and he snapped back to reality. Looking back to the hall at his back he considered it and glanced to the people nearby. "We...

Harb wouldn't kill anyone, but he didn't come all this way to be pressed into anyone's service. Especially without the slightest chance to introduce ourselves properly. If attacked, yeah, he'd defend himself probably using non-lethal means unless given a reason to do otherwise.

My Game Details

Details of games currently playing and games being sought.

Town:
Colorado Springs
State:
Colorado
Country:
USA
Game Details:
We are looking for more players. We have a 5.0e D&D game going right now, with 3 players, and I am planning a D&D 3.75/PF game that currently has 3 players.

Both campaigns are on Obisdian Portal at the following links:

5.0e:
http://sarnaut.obsidianportal.com/

3.75/PF:
http://godsandmonsterslegendsreborn.obsidianportal.com/

The 5.0e game is on a homebrew world called Sarnaut, and is about a broken planet, similar to the video game series Rage of Mages. It incorporates some SpellJammer material updated to 5.0e by the DM, and we started at 3rd level but have just made our 6th level.

The 3.75/PF game is about players choosing iconic characters or deities to roleplay as fledgling adventurers before they became super powerful. Currently have Raistlin Majere, Skadi, and Sheela Peryroyl created. I would like at least one more player, but would welcome up to three more. The plot of the game will become apparent during the first game session to create the ties that bind the party together.
My Character:
Favorite 3.5e character was my first one: A Dwarf Monk who I piloted from 14th level to 26th level and who became a deity and retired.

Favorite WoD character: Stephen Dolorent, a Toreador kindred who survived over 4 years of game sessions, multiple stories, and 3 whole chronicles, to reach golconda and keep it for about 10 game sessions before the 4th and final chronicle ended.

Favorite Rifts character: Jasyn Dax, a titan juicer created and employed by Northern Gun in Ishpeming Michigan. Through a lot of mercenary work, and happenstance, he ended up befriending a True Atlantean mindmelter and together they managed to bring down an entire hive full of the Coalition's forces and loyalists.

On the contrary; there can be no debate as to this issue. It was more on what the definition of "trolling" was than whether you were actually doing it. It doesn't have a concrete definition, or if it does it's still up for interpretation in some cases. I can see why @Nezkrul might think that way since you continued to state your side even after he tried to bow out, but I wouldn't call that trolling so much as being a bit stubborn, which has its uses at times. By the way, what the heck are the spoiler tags here on ENworld anyway? I tried doing and but it's not working. Edit: Well, alright, it does work in the sense that it's a spoiler by blocking out the text unless someone chooses to read it, but it's not the collapsible button that I'm used to in other places. And the quote button doesn't show the tags.

  • 01:29 AM - Aust Thale quoted Nezkrul in post Greyhawk: The Golden Era CY 963: EPIC CAMPAIGN - Campaign Logs + RESTORED CAMPAIGN THREAD
"Perhaps Dengar could ask for his Lady's assistance in helping the non-zombified inhabitants off the plane?", asks Jynx. ~ In the cradle of the heavens... ~ Dengar has been listening carefully, stroking his chin contemplatively. To Jynx, "Yes, she can, but..." Dengar trails off for a moment, and addresses the group, unusually somber. "This can go wrong in a thousand ways. I agree with Sphynx. And I'd like to peruse the book as well. We presume that we are doing the right thing by undoing something that should have never been done in the first place. Fandekar's new plane, I mean. I see what you mean by severing the ability to enter and leave it, as we perceive it to be an elaborate booby trap of sorts. I wonder...." Dengar trails off again for another moment. "I have two dueling notions swirling around in my head: the first is that it might be possible to reverse temporal mechanics in the plane, by which it would devolve back into what? Nothingness perhaps? Effectively, we wou...

  • 04:26 PM - MacConnell quoted Nezkrul in post One Prankster to Another
Jynx remembers his old friend and ally, but chuckles at the remark of rushing into the unknown. As that is a bit of an oxymoron on Sphynx's plane, because everywhere is unknown unless you can read the mind of the Sphynx, Jynx continues running right past Sphynx...and high five's his outstretched hand on the way past. "Just because you can bamph around in here doesn't mean I won't try to beat you too, old friend!" smiling, as he runs by. ~if you can hear this, Sphynx, it better be venison when I get there.~ It is rather difficult to "high-five" someone who is only 5.5' tall whose hand is extended forward; but none the less, Sphynx laughs at the gesture. With astounding grace and fluidity for an apparently aged Elf and an astonishing reflex speed, Sphynx glides to the side and gives a quarter turn smoothly avoiding any contact from the speeding pirate as he rushes by. "My instinct assures me the lack of venison will not be your concern." With the same speed, grace, and fluidity, Sphynx tur...

  • 01:50 PM - Celebrim quoted Nezkrul in post Divine Crusader and extra spell feat or Spell Knowledge epic feat
So, instead of being a snobby ass like you are, how about you just help instead of whining about the rules? You know, I don't see a lot of other people here trying to help you, so maybe I'm not the one that needs to swallow some pride. If you had explained that you wanted a homebrew feat from the beginning, instead of asking rules interpretation questions, you'd have got the answer you need with a lot less wordage. i asked for advice if it was amended by the DM to inlude divine casters No, you didn't, but if that is what you are asking: Divine Knowledge [EPIC] You have a deeper understanding of the power of the divine. Prerequisite: You must have obtained high enough level to be able to cast spells of the maximum level allowed for by a divine spell-casting class. Benefit: Pick a divine spell-caster class in which you have obtained sufficient level to cast spells of the maximum level allowed for by the class. Add two divine spells from any divine spell-caster class spell-lis...
  • 02:13 AM - Celebrim quoted Nezkrul in post Divine Crusader and extra spell feat or Spell Knowledge epic feat
assume Spell Knowledge prereq is altered to include divine casters as well (because Archivist exists)... Ok, we can assume that... it won't be true, but we can assume that for whatever good it does. I'm not sure what Archivist has to do with it. Archivist is a divine spellcasting class. It casts divine spells. It operates like a wizard in that it can add spells to its spellbook, but only if they are divine spells. It is thus able to with a little bit of cleverness add spells from any divine spell list, including divine spells that are normally only available on domain spell lists and so forth. But they are always divine spells, and the prerequisite is what it says it is: "Ability to cast spells of the maximum normal spell level of an arcane spellcasting class." Thus, being a 20th level Archivist wouldn't qualify you for this feat. and you pick a class to add the spells to. You cannot just pick a class to add the spells to. You must pick the class that you have already ...

  • 08:57 PM - Celebrim quoted Nezkrul in post Divine Crusader and extra spell feat or Spell Knowledge epic feat
If my epic character with Divine Crusader levels takes either the extra spell feat or the spell knowledge epic feat, could he: 1. pick any cleric spells, 2. pick only spells that appear on domain spell lists, 3. only pick spells that appear on his deity's domain spell lists, 4. not pick those feats? Which is it, extra spell or spell knowledge? You may only take Spell Knowledge if you are an arcane caster. Since Divine Crusader casts divine spells, your Epic character would need to be maximum level in some other class that provides Arcane Spells in order to take Spell Knowledge. Spell Knowledge would allow you to learn two new spells from the spell list of the arcane class which was the prerequisite for Spell Knowledge. For Extra Spell, I think the closest answer to your list of options is #4. You probably can't pick this feat (unless you are also a 17th or 18th level arcane caster), and if you can, it doesn't interact with Divine Crusader. Extra Spell grants one of your classes w...

Hello again Nezkrul! :) on the manyshot thing: assume I'm making Ehlonna who has all the manyshot feats/divine abilities. If she has nescient and takes all the fighter feats to get uncanny weapon focus making all of her iterative attacks use the same bonus as the first attack, would that remove the "iterative" penalty for each arrow fired in a greater improved manyshot? As I see it, you would use the same bonus as the first attack for each attack, but the arrow limit wouldn't change.

Howdy Nezkrul! :) ...incidentally you forced me to read over parts of Ascension (which I hadn't done in about a year), damn I'd forgotten how good that book actually is*. ;) *How awesome is the Ygorl art above the Uncanny Weapon Focus ability! Looking back I wonder how the heck I ever drew anything that good. :o Does the divine ability Uncanny Weapon Focus remove the penalty for using the Manyshot feat? Manyshot specifically caps at 4 arrows with a -8 attack bonus on a BAB of +16. I considered Epic Manyshot and Divine Manyshot but I think the -2 penalty for an extra attack is unbalanced at epic levels and you should simply use the -5 penalty in the Metamartial 'Quicken Attack' instead. So Manyshot still works but caps at 4 attacks at -8. Personally if I was rewriting Manyshot I would specify each arrow needs to hit a separate target if medium or smaller, you can hit Large targets with 2, and Huge with 4. Can a Strike effect be imbued into a ranged/thrown weapons? Yes. What would be a go...

Howdy amigo - just replied to your private message. :) Ensorcelled cosmic ability 1. does it give wizards infinite spell slots to prep with? 2. does it affect epic spells / day? 3. if yes to 1, would that simply just be the same as making a wizard have spontaneous casting ability? 4. if yes to 2 (or no, doesn't matter), does Enlightened cosmic ability give knowledge of all possible epic spells? 1. Yes 2. Good question; I'm going to say no. 3. That was the idea behind it 4. I'm going to say no simply because I think Epic Spells are special. I think we would need a next tier up version of Enlightened for that. That said, my own rules technically wouldn't use epic spells at all. I had a far simpler (and better IMO) idea for 'Epic' Magic which was Dimensional Magic Tables overlapping Spell templates. ie. Entropic Dimensional Magic (permanent self harm) would be used as a modifier to offset a potential Spell Template (such as City Sized Area of effect). So you would ...

any thoughts on my crossbow portfolio? (it's edited into my last post) Howdy Nezkrul! :) Well...firstly, I don't see the Storms portfolio being the directly opposed portfolio - that said, its always tricky having opposed portfolio's for objects. Magic might be the closest, since Crossbows are mechanical devices...? For Object based Portfolios I wonder if it wouldn't be better to roll randomly for the opposed portfolio...? Beyond that I don't see any obvious faults (assuming I am still capable of spotting them that is). Looks pretty good. I think it would be interesting to play a Crossbow using the Double Crossbow Portfolio.

  • 09:19 AM - Empirate quoted Nezkrul in post Homebrew feat to increase spell slots for Uncanny Forethought
You do realize that you can only use Uncanny forethought on a number of spell slots = your intelligence modifier, right? You realize that, even if you started with a 20 intelligence (grey elf) at first level, that you have more spell slots than you can contribute to the UF pool starting at level 1 (if you count 0's) and level 3 (2nd level slots don't help if all you have is 1st levels with spell mastery)? That, unless you take spell mastery at level 3 or 5 or 6, NONE of your spells higher than level 1 will be standard actions when utilizing UF (can't UF nerveskitter if you don't spell mastery it, and even then, you just spent one of your 5 slots for UF on +5 initiative) How about this change then: Add a number of spell slots to your UF pool equal to your wisdom modifier. Can only take it once. ONLY int mod spells per day can be cast spontaneously? Are you sure you know what the word "only" means? Because it usually refers to amounts of stuff that are considered rather too much on the sm...

If I give the Revenge portfolio to a ranger, how does the Hatred prophet ability work? I assume it simply increases my favored enemy bonuses by my divine bonus, or gives me a favored enemy bonus against everyone equal to my divine bonus (non rangers) yes? I'd say both. Divine Favoured Enemy Bonus (against all enemies) stacking with any Favoured Enemy Bonus from Ranger Class/Prestige Classes.

ok, first off, you can't use the phrase "make's perfect sense" when referring to the resolution of magic effects in D&D. second, the more you nitpick and interpret to not be what is plainly written in the spell is called "house ruling", and you are free to do so. I think you're confusing "make sense" with "be realistic". The two are not the same. Imagine what it'd be like to play in a D&D game that didn't make sense. Now imagine one that isn't realistic. See the difference? I had fun imagining games that don't make sense, it was amusing so thanks for that.

  • 08:41 PM - Greenfield quoted Nezkrul in post Just how broken is it? Polymorph Any Object
last time I checked, living creatures are full of minerals of great intrinsic value, so how the hell does this spell even function then? that line needs to be expanded or ignored for this spell, considering that limited wish CAN make stuff, and that one is lower level. Living creatures are full of materials that are of great biological/medical value, if you happen to live in a world where such extraction is possible, and where there is no magical Remove Disease capacity. Just remember, "Intrinsic value" is relative to the location. On a Dark Sun world, water has an immense intrinsic value, while on the Elemental Plane of Earth, gemstones are relatively common and of no great intrinsic value. If, that is, you happen to be in a game world where the DM actually bothers to include Supply and Demand as a dynamic factor in the economy. :)
