I just looked up the rules and they seem pretty reasonable for lower level spells. On page 135 of the DMG it says, "The value of a consumable item, such as a potion or scroll, is typically half the value of a permanent item of the same rarity". So a potion of healing or scroll of cure wounds only takes 2 days to craft. That is not bad at all. Anything past 5th level is just ridiculous however. But I guess I understand that as a method to control spellcasting. Even if it seems just plain ridiculous in the eyes of previous editions. I see where you got the half the value but where did you find it would take 2 days to craft. Every single source I can find says it takes 10 days and 100 gold to craft including the Phb

I am a big fan of ForgedAnvil's sheet and use it for all my characters. However, I also use other sheets in tandem. For the Battlemaster I recommend filling out Joshua Fredrickson's Battlemaster Fighter Character Reference Sheet here at EnWorld. For some of my spellcasters I also use morepurplemorebetter's Spell Sheet Generator (also requiring Microsoft Excel 2010+) here at EnWorld. Joshua Fredrickson also has a Druid Wildshape Sheet here at EnWorld. Both the Battlemaster sheet and the Wildshape sheet are single pages designed to be added to whatever character sheet you are using. morepurplemorebetter's spell sheet generator makes a fine PDF file with easier to read spell lists. I wish it had a little less red on it but it matches up well with the partnered PDF character sheet form in the download. Hey thanks for the links! I will check these out.

I just used the transfer tool on two characters and neither carried over the spells. Otherwise seemed to work fine. Love the new option to hide duplicated details. Re-uploaded 1.46 of the transfer tool. this should fix the spells being transferred

I am guessing that the Elemental Evil Player's Companion will be a separate pack and will be very cheap. This. That content is also included in the full Princes of the Apocalypse pack but will be broken out as a separate, small purchase for people who just want the race and other player info without the adventure. What happens if I just want to be a player and have all the player content? What would I need to buy?

The Stat block sheet looks interesting. I use your sheet to write up all NPC companion characters that join the party temporarily and hand them out to different players to run for that session. I could see myself just printing this out for minor companions. :) I would prefer the background information there because I always give NPCs a background. I love the new background mechanic to give flavor to both PCs and NPCs. I consider it more important than subclass on some of my NPCs. Being a "Sailor" or "Outlander" can say a lot about a dude. Anyway, it looks cool. Ok cool, I've kept the character background and "merged" Race and Subrace into one section throughout the tool.

What is up with folks on the Internet knocking cities that they have probably never been to? Game companies are about the folks that work for them. Not so much about where they live. Printing, distributions, the Internet, and the minimization of conventions have made where the company is far less important. There is a certain level of perseverance, stick withitness, and flat out stubbornness I've mentally associated with the Palladium / Rifts. That the company is one of the ones that was in and STAYED in Detroit, pretty much confirms at lest some of those qualities. As to the city, when I was told by a friend about people tearing down abandoned houses for firewood in Detroit, I took that with a grain of salt. But when the city's own constabulary publicly warned people to stay away from their dangerous city, I take their word for it. usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/10/08/14294269-visit-detroit-at-your-own-risk-police-union-warns

Bug: Present in current v1.40 and last couple of versions the Custom Race section is not transferring the bonus to Charisma. Thanks again for this sheet. Thanks for the feedback and well spotted, corrected for v1.41!

Printing, distributions, the Internet, and the minimization of conventions have made where the company is far less important. I don't have to visit the Moon to know I don't want to live there. Same goes for a lot of Earth locations. Most of them, actually, now that I think about it. Not that I care if any given product is produced on the Moon, mind you. Agreed. Still having trouble believing this, even after seeing the PR up on Pinnacle's site. I think this easily has Green Ronin beat as "Gaming News Story of the Year". Forgive me, I only rarely pay attention to what's going on in Gaming News; what's the big Green Ronin news? (Edit: I'm guessing it's the Dragon Age Core Book?)

I wouldn't worry about that at all. The Savage Worlds side already has a deep collection of books that show you how to convert your favorite novel, TV show, genre or whatever to the main system without stepping on others toes. Fantasy Companion, Horror Companion, Science Fiction Companion, Super Powers Companion, Online Toolkits for them plus Wizards & Warriors, Crime City, and Pulp! just to name the ones that aren't connected to a setting! When you add the settings it goes from huge to a gigantic resource for kit-bashing. This licensed RIFTS book will add some things that can't be in those books. I think it is a pretty cool development. Really, you could already be playing in New Lazlo or Tolkeen with SW rules if you did all the work yourself. :) It honestly never occurred to me before I seen the teaser announcement here at enworld.org but it sounds interesting. I might never play it but I will buy the book and read it. Oh, SW totally has deep pockets when it comes to resources for converitng...

I can confirm that it is your image overlays that is causing the distortion. If I forcibly remove them then the Excel file prints both to the printer and PDF in amazing crisp quality with proper font printing and embedding. Lines are perfectly straight. It is totally press quality. With the fancy image overlays then both lines and fonts underneath the overlays are distorted and much lower quality. It is the "fuzzy" look. I am using Adobe Acrobat Professional Distiller version 9.5.5; "Print to Adobe PDF". I don't have any idea why the image overlays would do that. But it is not just with PDF but direct printing as well so it is something to do with Microsoft Excel. I think I've found the issue, it has something to do with the resolution of images and their ratio... working on improving this. So far the results are positive, will need further testing done once 1.38 is ready

Comment: Ever since version v1.32 (when the fancy layout was added) if you print to PDF from Excel the character sheet is fuzzy in places. Sometimes lines are even bent like they were scanned. This is true in Tyranny theme and the Elemental theme both but more evident in the Elemental theme. Edit: Confirmed also that when printing directly to printer from excel or Microsoft XPS file format printer that the pages look fuzzy and scanned looking. Appears that letters/lines are being converted to graphics instead of remaining raw fonts. Sample: http://www.old-oeridians.com/sample.pdf I'll look into it, though it is strange the lines near Deity are skewed, these are not images. What PDF printer are you using, I've used the inbuilt version in Windows (10) and don't see skewing but some blurred artifacts in other areas - might need to increase the resolution of the images used - trading off for file size

I love this sheet and appreciate all the work you put into it. I do have to agree that Targeteron is right in that the font size is extremely small. I can read it OK because I have 20/20 vision. The newer design while it looks cooler seems to be a touch harder to read at the game table on paper. If you get time it would be totally awesome if you added some new pages with the information from the first two sheets in a larger font to the spreadsheet. Basically, a larger print version generated from the same data to go alongside the standard page 1 and page 2. I don't know too much about Excel so I don't know if this would be too difficult to implement. It would probably take four additional pages to cover the same two in a larger font but it would be helpful for those who play in darker game areas (like myself) or those with less than perfect vision. It is a beautiful sheet but it has a lot of fonts printed under size 6. That is pretty small. Anyway. Thanks again! Working on readability, I thi...

Feedback for V1.32: Hero Points switch has become broken. Proficiency Dice misspelled on sheet in skills column. Reset Macro seems to be removing "Adventure Notes" header on page 4. I will make some characters in a few minutes and try it out. Looks great. Thanks for the feedback, all points corrected in V1.33

I see you are using the Tyranny of Dragons iconography. Be cool if there was an option to use the Elemental Evil theme as well. It looks nice! :) Planning on this logo and the character portrait to be editable in a different way via "replacing" the existing image with a different one. Users of Office 2007-2010 will be able to resize and edit the photo (including some of the cool artistic effects in Excel). Actually it is possible to design "skins" for the sheet, interested? 2 examples below done by Excel effects and styles... 6782267823

Awesome. A couple of ideas/enhancement requests: Bonus Feats—I am not currently DMing or running a campaign with bonus feats but in the past I have played them were first level characters were given a bonus feat or one bestowed by magic/rewards. Be nice to have an override to add additional feats. Proficiency Bonus—In my current game I have an optional rule related to multiclassing that changes the proficiency bonus of said character. It would be awesome to have a proficiency bonus override. I guess this is a strange request. :) Gemstones—There is probably not room on the sheet but it would be nice to have Gems listed with the Coins section. Thanks for your efforts. Bonus Feats - Something I've been thinking to implement, especially for magical items that may grant a feat for example. Will look to do this for the next release Proficiency Bonus - I think the best way to implement this is to have an adjustment (e.g. -3,-2,-1,0,+1,+2,+3) to Proficiency Bonus and not to overrid...

  • 10:32 PM - I'm A Banana quoted Warunsun in post Would you allow Kender outside of Dragonlance?
I have seen Kender allowed in a Ravenloft campaign. I wasn't the DM. Since Ravenloft is extra-planer I can kind of understand it but I would in no way encourage it. ...yeah, I gotta say, in RL or Dark Sun or some similar, sombre-toned setting (maybe Birthright?) I'd not allow Kender. But FR or Greyhawk or even Planescape could probably deal with 'em just fine. And they wouldn't be the most ridiculous things on Mystara, either.
