...o eliminate it; there is no vote splitting. In addition, you must split your vote- you can't upvote and downvote the same game (no "see" votes). Some important points that you must read before voting- 1. This is a pure popularity contest, and is meant to be fun. You can cast your votes for whatever reason you want. Spite, irrational love/hate, gameplay mechanics, strategic voting, and hating all computer games because you can't stick your pencil in a computer screen is perfectly acceptable. This vote does not affect anything in real life, and no game will be removed from your hard drive, flash drive, USB, or other medium of computer storage because of this vote. You can comment for the reasons for your vote, or not- up to you! But this is for enjoyment only. 2. This is the list of computer games for D&D as listed in wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dungeons_%26_Dragons_video_games Please note that we are only using the computer games that use the D&D rules. As @Invisible Stalker has pointed out, there are other awesome games, such as the one for Intellivision. But that would make the list too long. If there is interest, we can have an additional survivor thread for those games after this one. But because he asked nicely before the thread was created, AD&D Cloudy Mountain has been added. IN ADDITION, BECAUSE OF THE SHEER NUMBER, WE ARE USING THE SORTING SUGGESTED BY GRADINE. If you wish to argue with his sorting, please send your helpful comments to /dev/null. As always, the list is the list, please do not alter it. Katana Nope. Katana causes a buffer overflow. Baldur's Gate WINNER WINNER RUN THE ENHANCED VERSION DINNER! For updates on may classic D&D computer games, see- https://www.beamdog.com/ Note- I am not advocating for any of these. UPDATED- CAN NO LONGER RUN ON A MODERN COMPUTER SYSTEM! Sword Coast Legends #25 Silver Box: Dragonlance Series #69 (SHUT UP BEAVIS!) Dungeons & Dragons Online #107 AD&D: Cloudy Mountain #130 Temple of Elemental Evi...

I agree, get rid of the players and DMs that don't like paladins. Problem solved. If you define the problem as, “D&D is too awesome with way too many great DMs and players. How can we make sure that it sucks in perpetuity? Like, suckituity?” - then yes, you have Einsteined the heck out of the problem! :)

Shakespeare is my favorite writer. Once again, I've never played Planescape: Torment, but recognized it as a threat to the games I did want to see win. It had to go. I'm merely explaining why it is controversial, I'm not criticising or attacking the result. I expect if you did a "who is the best writer, Shakespeare or Salvatore" poll, Salvatore would win. Yes, the Baldur's Gates are great games. But Planescape: Torment transcends gamehood.

  • 09:13 PM - lowkey13 quoted Invisible Stalker in post Survivor the Good, the Bad, and the Fey- SPRITE WINS!
The Advanced Dungeons & Dragons game for Intellivision. (the original that was later renamed Cloudy Mountain) Woah ... that's a blast from the past! I was alwayas fond of ... what was it ... Sea Battle(?) on the Intellivision. I think we'd have to split it in two (as per the wikipedia list); the computer games that used D&D rules alone is long enough.

  • 06:59 PM - Oofta quoted Invisible Stalker in post Why does 5E SUCK?
It didn't come out in 2000. Exactly. Much like no music worth listening to has come out since I was in high school, no edition of D&D will ever live up to it's glory days.

  • 11:32 PM - mrpopstar quoted Invisible Stalker in post Paladin: Why Are They Often Considered Highly Powerful?
And yes, DMs need to be strong in enforcing those oaths. If you lose paladin status, none of this oathbreaker business, the character MUST suffer a fate worse than death itself... it has to become a fighter.Nooooooooooooooo!!!!
  • 05:21 AM - MechaTarrasque quoted Invisible Stalker in post How Much Damage does a supplex do in D&D?
If your DM describing the action is Gordon Solie it is pronounced "su-play" not suplex. For years I thought he said "soufflé." It never made any sense to me, but GS made it sound right (and I thought there might have been a wrestler with a chef gimmick that invented it--by pro wrestling standards, that wouldn't actually be that weird). You learn new things every day!

Why do I get the feeling that before he sits down to play chess CapnZapp removes all the knights, bishops, rooks and queens. Well it's really like he sat down at the table to play a game of Chess where the house rules made sure its a challenge to play the game but forgot that one side only had pawns and so Zapp is trying to introduce the missing pieces.

Why do I get the feeling that before he sits down to play chess CapnZapp removes all the knights, bishops, rooks and queens. It's amusing, but as an analogy misses the point. All of the pieces of a color are controlled by the same player - they are more like class features, not individual characters. The two players are balanced in features - the primary difference at the state of the game is who has initiative. :)

Why do I get the feeling that before he sits down to play chess CapnZapp removes all the knights, bishops, rooks and queens. Absolutely. Must remove all overpowered pieces. Kings and pawns are perfectly balanced and all you need. Except maybe the king, what's up with that "any direction" cheese?

Why do I get the feeling that before he sits down to play chess CapnZapp removes all the knights, bishops, rooks and queens. I remove my king - you can't lose if there's nothing to mate! . . . well, that's uh, rather lonely

I bet an edition survivor would be popular. It would probably cost the lives of tens of thousands of people, but it would be popular. :D There was one. As soon as 4e died on page 3, Umbran closed the thread ;) As expected lol
