Wow, ninjaed. Didn't see they added PDFs over the weekend. But did get the newsletter that mentioned PDFs being added. I'm backer 755 now, because I said I wasn't because they didn't have PDFs. CrimsonCarcharodon, 77IM, Slighted, Matthan, Azhmodai, Rl'Halsinor, Pravus, Dire Bare, Paragon Lost, Zaukrie, Ghost2020? Did you see? Have you got your pledge in yet?

Was the creature originally called a "Briar Bully"? See the Multiattack last line, "...and the brier bully uses it's Thorny Grapple..", and under Entangle it mentions Brian Bullies as well. A bit of proofing needed on this one. The Multiattack reference to a briar bully in the last line has been corrected in the final manuscript and the Entangle feature is correct as written, Children of the Briar, Briar Bullies, and Briar Men can all work together for that feature. thanks, matt

Quite possibly ... This is mostly an early mock up to give folks a feel for the overall page look, etc. The final product will have gone through MANY more rounds of editing, proofing, etc.! Was the creature originally called a "Briar Bully"? See the Multiattack last line, "...and the brier bully uses it's Thorny Grapple..", and under Entangle it mentions Brian Bullies as well. A bit of proofing needed on this one.

Will Gale Force 9 be making supplements to complement these releases? GM screens, cards for any new spells, etc. I hope they do a screen for each book. I dig those things. Also WOTC making a map pack is different. Do we have any details on this? I'm assuming they're Undermountain maps. I can't speak to the Map pack. But a Waterdeep specific DM screen is currently with the printers. From the cover sheet: This screen is the perfect companion for those dungeon masters running the Waterdeep: Dragon HeistTM adventure. The front features images of bustling streets, looming statues, and quiet alleys to inspire your players. The back displays references for some of the many exciting places to go and things to see and do, as well as the all-important Code Legal, a reminder of what not to do.

Porn and D&D....it's like i'm 15 again!!! Come on, man. People aren't defined by their jobs, former or present. Bringing up her adult film career every time she appears is not a good look. She has proven herself a skilled GM and gaming personality, writer and designer. Sex work is work. Have a little respect.

Porn and D&D....it's like i'm 15 again!!! :P But seriously...preordered it, can't wait. Hmmm i wonder if Gale Force 9 will do a screen for this one? Porn?!? What kind of adventure do you think Dragon Heist? I mean I know it's the forgotten realms so there are tons of brothels, er I mean festhalls, and enough gods, demon lords, and Archdevils of lust to make their own Pantheon, but I wouldn't call the book porn, I mean wow.

  • 07:39 PM - Abstruse quoted Ghost2020 in post News Digest: New D&D Books Leaked, Pathfinder Video Game Pre-Orders Open, Spiel des Jahres Winners, and more!
Movies and video games operate on a different economy than an RPG. This isn't a accurate comparison. An indie game getting the same sales as D&D, that's a more relevant comparison. The D&D movie rights were settled in August of 2015, and there's been plenty of talk about scripts, directors, etc. There are projected dates of 2021, but as with all things in Hollywood, subject to change. Except we're not talking about Wizards of the Coast. We're talking about Hasbro. You know, Transformers, My Little Pony, GI Joe, etc. They've got billion dollar franchises. I wouldn't be surprised if Monopoly alone made more money in a day for Hasbro than D&D does in a year. And the movie rights were settled...and they went back to Courtney Solomon...who then lost them again because he couldn't get a project off the ground even though, before the lawsuit was filed in 2013, there were two films in pre-production fast-tracked for release in 2014 for the 50th anniversary of D&D and the release of the new edition. ...

We've tried the Arkham Horror board game, several times even. That thing is terrible. Eldritch Horror is a cleaner, more streamlined version of the clunkier and cumbersome Arkham.

I like the Lovecraft fiction, but the RPG is just something that never connected for me. It should too, as it's right up my alley. Not sure if it's the system or the subject matter with that system. I totally understand the intended result (madness, death, etc), but it's not terribly playable for me beyond one shots. Although the D20 CoC seemed to work a bit better for me as I didn't feel that my character would die falling down some steps. :P I would recommend any of the various Cthulhu titles from Fantasy Flight Games. Eldritch Horror is my personal favorite, but there several to choose from and match your style of play (i.e. Card, board, dice, or miniatures game). Pick your poison (or level of insanity, if you prefer).

D'oh! It was the Adventure Grid, my bad. Carry on. :) This is exactly what I was talking about regarding my disappointment in the packaging. If *we* can get them confused here, you can imagine what it's like to try to sell them at retail. Casual customers have no idea what any of this product is. Making it all look nearly exactly the same is counterproductive. Don't get me wrong, I like the design in general, and I think there's a place for unity. But like I said before, they didn't even place a picture of what the product actually looks like on the back. Just a little descriptive blurb. We'll wind up with 5 near identical products that say "character sheets" "adventure grid" "dungeon tiles" "wilderness tiles" and "city tiles" and not much else to tell them apart, or to let the new or casual purchaser know what they are or what they're for.

Huh, saw this at a convention today. The vendor said they fold out 2 panels to a side. Wet/dry erase, and folds into standard 8.5x11 in size. Forest on one side, standard indoors on other. I can't confirm as it was still sealed. That is actually a different product that looks similar when folded up.

  • 04:12 PM - Danel Fisher quoted Ghost2020 in post Gallant Knight Games Designing 2nd Edition of WEG’s D6 System
Look at the newest version of the Star Wars revised, expanded, and updated (REUP) for what might be updated. It's a fan made creation and it's incredible. I'll add my 2c here as well. REUP is amazing. WEG Star Wars (1st, 2nd, and revised) was my first RPG and we played it for years. REUP has taken every reasonable house rule I ever read about and put together an amazing professional looking document. Gallant Knight has some tough shoes to fill to surpass this fan-made document. Also, I've recently tried returning to D6 as a Rules Light alternative to the new versions of Traveller, Shadowrun, and others. The Open License stuff is a bit dated now so professional level revision with good campaign support should breathe some life into an otherwise great system.
