    Maybe the guys downstairs won't hear the sound of combat, right there all deaf is requirement for the cult. This is looking bad I either Gormok can hold the door and shoot down the balcony at the others or he could leap off the balcony and lock up the three down there or alternatively we could all squish in the room behind us and lock them in the door way. Not that Gormok has would be thinking...

    Ow my apoligies, Shildoor has No fondness for fishes or fighting in the water. So he'll Dash Swim to the Shore. But making sure he is the last one between his allies and the fishes. So they have more to eat? Just swim, I'm waiting to blast them when you all clear out. Azurewraith, I'll change my spell from thunderwave to ice knife. It will also explode, but hopefully instead of pulling me in, it will create temporary barrier and maybe even push me backwards. Shooting as soon as others pass me by (by single move this round I should be 5' from the shore and waiting) - unless you rule I didn't know that possible effect of the thunderwave is pushing water away... Surge result: 1D10000 = [7129] = 7129 Targets dominant hand inflates to a one-foot diameter - I'm guessing, no effect :(

    Searinox Nagharha, jmucchiello, I know it's fun and exciting when you join the new game, but could you please slow down a bit? With 5 posts a day the entire conversation from the guard to the captain passed without single post from Charwoman Gene and VLAD the Destroyer and me managed single post in each conversation. I've been known to do it occasionally when I randomly get together with Azurewraith online, but you need to stop afterwards and see if anyone adds something new that affects the future events. Thank you for your understanding :) P.S: PbP is slow, you get used to it eventually. Even fastest paced adventures rarely do more than about round per day.

His brothers-in-robes were killed, the druids of Tagha Bough cut down before his eyes. The memory is not his own, and yet it is inescapable, as real as if it happened yesterday. So Azurewraith, you made a Perception check (10+5=15) for listening to the standing stones, when I'd asked for a Charisma save. I'll treat your result as 10+1=11, so a failed save. The reason for this approach: To anyone who knows Elder Speech (such as Tamaran) who makes the effort to listen, the voices are intelligible (essentially an auto-success on a trivially easy Perception check); often I will assume success on certain tasks where there's no dramatic impact to failure. In this case, the sounds coming from the standing stones is imbued with enchantment magic, hence the need for a Charisma save upon focusing on that sound. Tamaran has been charmed by the spirit of a dead Druid, which causes him to enter a Rage like a barbarian & gain a flaw… Gain advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.     Rolled a 1 which I believe is a double fail. Ah yes, I missed that. Sorry dude, I hate killing PC's even in games that are meant to be dangerous and deadly. Just curious why carrying an unconscious person is a grapple? They are not resisting? Seems like it would be more of an object interaction, and maybe impose some encumbrance penalties. And damn. Don't want to lose anyone! Looks like I misread the object interaction rules - just re-read them. For some reason I thought that having a tough interaction (like the stuck lever in the PHB example) required your action, which it does not, only a STR check. Treating dragging a character like a grapple just struck me as an easy way to to achieve the goal. The grapple automatically succeeds, since the target is unconscious, and movement is halved for grappling, so that makes a simple version of encumbrance. But yeah, it could just be an object interaction with an encumbrance penalty.

I had Duran outside the fence by the entrance, then circling closer to the group during the fight. The entrance was guarded by a goblin, wolf and an orc.

    would it be possible to move within 30ft if either the party or the wolf guard, without a stealth check? It took some time for the party to cover the distance to the fence stealthily as there is mostly just grass to hide in. Assuming Duran wants to stay outside the fence, you can't get within 30ft of them. Duran can get within 30ft of the wolf guard, we'll say most of this movement was done while the rest of the party was sneaking to the fence.

    What's the distance from Duran and the party I had a idea! I had to go back and check (post 1549) - then realised my measurements for the camp are a bit off. The large tent in the center is oval roughly 100 x250 ft; the fence is about 40 yards from the tent and Duran is waited about 50 yards outside the fence at the edge of the depression hiding the camp. The other guarded location you noticed was the cages in the south west area. If you make any big moves around the camp you'll need to make stealth checks.

    @jmucchiello Sorry I made the last post just as I was going to bed. Turns out you are right disintegration is green, who knew and on a second point turns it they relaxed the rules for disintegration in 5e in that true res or wish can restore you, even better is that the beholder eye beam does not specify true resurrection etc. So you are just dead, no saves though but you can easily be revived. Not that easily. We need to find someone who can cast 7th level spells. All the lower level spells will not restore body parts/create a body.

    If we where playing in the sweet spot I see no reason to gain any levels. Forsooth. Level 1 might not work. But in my current campaign, my players have been at 7th and 8th level for almost two years now with no complaints. There was a brief panic when the Witch was petrified and they thought the only way to unstone her was to get the Cleric to 9th level for Greater Restoration.

    That was a really good idea could always swim closer and try it. I don't think so. If the range were like 30 feet, it might be a good idea. But at 10 feet, anywhere she puts the scent places the rest of the party between the scent and the swarms. So the swarms would still be attracted to the party first. Her idea now depends on how wide the beach is: Get to shore, move 30+ feet left or right on the beach and then cast it 10 feet off shore in the hopes of luring the fish away from the party. Possibly less effective because of range. But I'm hoping blood is stronger than splashing around. Her low initiative doesn't help.
