I've got the tiefling warlock concept ready, at least fluff-wise. I've sent it to 97mg and TallIan by PM. Will we also start without gear, or will we have something?

Hi 97mg, Quick question, can Gimlak turn the sled around, have the wolfs advance their at their speed, and then run on the snow, and attack the Korrund? Or is this something he'll need 2 rounds for? Thanks and cheers, SG

Not far away... Exiting the woodlands near the old windmill, the gnome trickster Twopaz, found a set of four megaliths standing in a circle. The intriguing stones were each carved with what look like a city representing a different city. The city of winter is shown covered with snow, the city of spring is arrayed in flowers, the city of summer has a sunburst overhead, and the city of autumn is covered with leaves. While walking around from stone to stone you notice a small pile of children's teeth in the center of the area. Int(Arcana) check, DC:12 While investigating the area he hears the sounds of travelers walking towards the dilapidated mill. A quick look shows him the group wearily approaching the front door. Welcome to the game 97mg

Sorry, 97mg! I wasn't actively monitoring this thread. I only saw this comment because somebody kindly messaged me. If you need my attention, it helps to tag me. Could you resend your email? I can't find one which references gold or gp in the last few weeks. Thanks!

  • 05:23 AM - narayan quoted 97mg in post Quarzi Lagomorpha, Mr. Noggins, Tinglemist
http://www.dawnindustry.com/Temp/Quarzi_sm2.jpg The icy coolness of a morning's air may have been inhaled deeply by the little halfling's lips, but it was the chill in Quarzi's spine that really screamed for attention. For a moment she lay there, perfectly still, almost paralyzed with surprise and fear. Hare's didn't appreciate being snuck up on or stalked. Territorial and ever-alert, the general idea was to make oneself "unavailable" should invisible borders be crossed by predatory kinds. It was the thing's scalps that really turned the golden's stomach. Proudly displayed like grizzly mementos of a hunters aptitude. Humanoid skins from once sentient heads. For Quarzi, first impressions mattered, and bashfully presenting yourself as a killer wasn't going to go a long way to win her confidence. Sure, the use of animal remains for furs and warmth was a necessity at times. Quarzi preferred hers to be sourced from beasts that died of natural causes of course. Even her leather, enchanted and...

I think the main party is well overdue for some good ol' fashioned XP, and our new arrivals are bound to deserve a bit too. Should you achieve the opportunity for long rest, remind me to take care of it ;) An extra level would indeed be nice!

Looking good! Now we just need to plot as to how Shan is going to make his entry. Let me know if you have any ideas, and how it could tie into a possible background. Is Shan a lone wanderer at the moment, or possibly from a hardy alpine village... hell could even be from Bria's (NPC) home.Well, I made him a murderer, so that he could have escaped from the prison as well (seizing the opportunity to follow, but from a different gang, or whatever). But whatever works. He's looking for a longsword, studded leather, and a component pouch. And the ribbon Mrs. Miller gave him the day before he killed her husband.

Hi Kobold Stew! You are welcome to cook something and join in, as it will bring our active party to 5 which is a good number for what lurks ahead :-) Sorry for the delay in responding. Awesome! My first instinct is for a Half-orc Bard, which will give some (unoptimized) healing. If there's a strong desire among others for a cleric or a rogue, I am happy to comply. I know you say core books only, but since you include the MM, I'll also so that the bard build would work great with a goblin (build with VGTM; non-evil obviously), who might be a more appropriate prisoner. Whatever is decided (and I'm open to input from anyone), I can pull something together quickly. Cheers!

So I think Thorin and Rolin have probably dropped off the map. Thinking of recruiting one or two more brave souls, but wanted to ask you guys what you think first. If youre looking for new victims Id like to throw my name in the ring. Ive got a pretty good track record of sticking around long term. Ive wanted to do an eldritch knight for a while, I think this could fit well here. Im AFB for thanksgiving, but I can have something up early next week.

Hi guys, we seem to have stalled a bit. Is Gimlak going to attempt to prevent Fae from releasing the wolves? If not, I'll post. Otherwise, the team is going to have to sort it out IC as Steve mentioned. :) Nope, Gimlak has an action readied, ready to attack the wolves if they come at us. He is hoping that Fae will release them one by one, for the group's safety. I'm eager to see if she gets attacked, and Gimlak will shoot at the first wolf that tries to harm her. Cheers, Sg

Tense! How does this sound as a resolution. Gimlak shoots 2x wolves before Faenala moves in to block his way. Just as things appear to look like things are about to get "serious", Zemryn moves in and makes it clear she will intervene if Gim and Fae get into melee. That works. So 2 wolves are dead, and this will be resolved IC through roleplay. Cheers, Sg

I like the look of this morality and potential bonding opportunity between Fae and Gim hehe. Play it how you feel is right folks. If we need initiative, then so be it. Who knows, a full party brawl could errupt, and for the first time ever it won't be in a tavern. I love a good brawl, as long as there are no hard feelings afterwards. Init for Gimlak: [roll0] I figure Gimlak must have gotten a few shots in before Faenala started to interfere. Note that Gimlak is very patient with the woman, much like a great Dane with a barking chiuaua (but a chiuaua that will eventually be able to fly and throw fireballs! ;-) Cheers, Sg

I'm just treating him as a little dazed this round :) I imagine you meant stunned, because dazed isn't a condition in 5e. If so, that's an auto fail on ability checks - can someone see some shoving coming ;-) Cheers, Sg

Mr Koz is subject to the grappled condition, but not prone... yet. But yes, you get advantage on your attack with your free arm :) Not to complain about the advantage, but I want to understand why? Grappled makes the subject's speed 0, but another action (shove) needs to happen so the target is prone, hence giving advantage to attacks. Is the current advantage because of what happened with the sled? Thanks and cheers, Sg

On average, I must say, my rolls really taste like bum! Hope there is better luck for the evil DM soon lol This will catch up to us, I am sure ;-) So to confirm, the Korrund is grappelef (from Gimlak) and prone (from falling from the sled). However, Gimlak I's not prone, and gets to attack with advantage, with his 1 free arm, right? Thanks cheers, Sg

  • 02:47 AM - narayan quoted 97mg in post In the lair of Kumbakarna
http://www.dawnindustry.com/Temp/Wrenwilsmallsuper.jpg Wrenwil continued to eat, but listened carefully to Alic and Ordechai's worrysome words. The tastes of a distant land, flavors that reminded him of peace, relaxation and a mountain of alluring texts back in his humble home... were somewhat soured by his companion's anxiety. Maybe the priest was hardening. Through all the terrors of recent days, perhaps death no longer seemed like such a bother. Not with the weight of other visions lying heavy on one's mind. "Let us not show them the fear they desire," he whispered. "If they are not of sound mind to understand your memories, Ordechai, then let's just have faith that the truth can be our gift to Kumbakarna, amongst what else he will want of us." It was hardly a reassurance, but they'd kept their hearts beating this far. Pentos wouldn't have brought this all about for nothing. Never. The old cleric's thoughts were interrupted by an expression of terror on Alic's face, and a look that h...

  • 01:53 PM - Steve Gorak quoted 97mg in post The Rhyot Break - Chapter One: Endless White
Torch flickering in the wind, Gimlak's companions watch as the (clearly) barbarian man heads off into the darkness, alone. It seems till now, his plan has worked, the wolves more than happy to snack upon their master's flesh. Perhaps that is less of a reassurance on second thoughts, to Gimlak, being the new master and all. The hairy pair tug him along, and mostly comply to the demands on the reigns. Its a bit lurchy and they lack the domesticated attitude of well trained horses, but aside from a few jolts along the way, he keeps them headed in a generally southwards direction. With little more than dim light surrounding him, the sounds of the oncoming grow louder. The shout of a dwarven voice, commanding animals to hurry. The crack of a whip. Then ahead, forty feet away, he sees them. A sled pulled by row upon row of wolf. Six? And behind them the form of a Korrud. "I hope ya found em' ya sniveling muttface!" He calls out with authority in his tone. "And why the torch dulleyes? ...

I'm back folks :) What's your plan (if any) in getting ready for a Koz imminent arrival? Looks like Gimlak is going to get a torch burning and ride his one-wolf sled out towards the oncoming sounds, whilst everyone else positions themselves for an ambush? Welcome back! The plan is pretty much this, except that gimlak will switch sleds to have a faster two wolfpower engine.I recommend that all y'all turn the sled on its side fo conver (and hiding). Apologies for not being responsive, I was travelling for business, but I'll post IC right now to get thiings moving. Cheers, SG

Glancing around, Imladir appeared to have wisely re-positioned herself, and Zemryn with crossbow in hand was heading out for some cover. Probably wise moves. [/url] *coughs, coughs* Other than that, I don't mind either roller. You said you preferred rolz so I rolled there up to now, but I can switch to Coyote no problem. Initiative: 1D20+2 = [10]+2 = 12

My name is Bria, by the way, she unveils as you push on, her words accompanied by puffs of cold cloudy breath. Gimlak talks briefly as they are advancing "Well met Bria. I don't have the words to thank you..." His body tenses and his hand instinctively grabs the hilt of his sword as he sees the bodies of the elves tense at because of a threat he cannot see. He whispers "How many, 2? Over there? I will divert their attention, make your blows count!" Gimlak rushes forward and draws his sword. It has been a long time since he was armed in front of Korrund. This feeling of empowerment grew like a torrent through him. This is a good day. A day to spill Korund blood!, he thinks to himself as he advances. "Die, Korund scum!" He screams when he is closer, to attract their attention Action: dash towards the Korrund Item interaction: draw sword bonus action: Rage!!!! AC: 15 HP: 15/15
