I was going for a more broadly applicable philosophy, but I'll take it. It certainly meets the needs of addressing this most recent issue in most details. Is it fair to extrapolate that to an understanding that it is not "politics" to discuss how the community should best create and maintain an environment safe from harassment and abuse? Part of the reason I brought this question up is that it...

D351 started a thread No Politics
Given the recent thread closure elsewhere, and the derailing that took that thread in that direction, it might be worth asking some questions about the policy for keeping threads on topic and/or what qualifies as politics. In my opinion, this site has a somewhat stricter enforcement of these things than most. I assume this is because of a longer history and experiences here that have proven that...

What decision did Gen Con make? I haven't been able to find any response from them other than a non-committal tweet.

IMO, (and I did not read the seven pages of replies this post has already received) an abuser's reputation isn't enough to effect business relationships until someone makes that reputation into news. The latest allegations made it news. You don't lose business connections for being a bad person; you lose them for being outed as a bad person to the right people or enough people. It's not a perfect...

Last Gen Con, I bought a sizable backpack with a clip on the front for attaching stuff at Ikea on the way there. Best last minute purchase. I strapped my collapsible back pack to the front of it (which I didn't end up needing this time), had plenty of room for those weirdly long boxes and stuff that needed to be kept flat between them, and it was just extremely convenient to have one less of...

So, when Equestria came out, I sifted through the book and was thoroughly impressed. I was not remotely expecting the quality of game design. I don't know why it took this long for me to come across an RPG manual that includes pages with random numbers spread on them for using instead of dice. That alone was enough to want to own the book as a curiosity. But with rules that seemed innovative and...

Unfortunately, this was the first thread I found on the subject. I'm also just now noticing that this thread was originally posted in the wrong area. Sorry about all that. But it's mentioned on the "Edit Profile Cover" page? Not to be rude, but where? I tried multiple times to upload an image before I decided to search the forums. All I'm seeing on that page is a description of what a cover...

Call of Cthulhu and End of the World. The Warren if you count having a yearly one-shot.

I'm a week late in finding out that EN World has a forum site, but here's the press release for my game: Fantasies for Foreplays Kickstarter opens today! January 28 2019: Fantasies for Foreplay, an expansion for Foreplay: An Erotic Storytelling Game (2+ players) has just opened its Kickstarter! This expansion brings a whole new layer of depth in gameplay as well as a multitude of...

This seems like the kind of thing that should be mentioned on the page for doing that.

Poorly. It's not an easy balance, and the worst part is that if you don't get it under control, you will burn out.

I've participated in pay-for-store-credit situations, and those are pretty chill, especially if you already run a public game and don't have to change anything. I currently run a weekly Call of Cthulhu game like that.

Not as many as some other posters but enough to know that I don't want to actually think too hard about a specific number.

What decision did Gen Con make? I haven't been able to find any response from them other than a non-committal tweet. And that's all we will find, until they decide to tell us more. (I wouldn't hold my breath, though. They just said their Policy Team decisions are private.) GenCon is a different type of entity than, say, WotC or DriveThruRPG. When I said that I support GenCon's decision, I meant it broadly: not because I know what their decision is, but because it is their decision to make, and I support them. I'm satisfied knowing they aren't ignoring this.

Last Gen Con, I bought a sizable backpack with a clip on the front for attaching stuff at Ikea on the way there. Best last minute purchase. I strapped my collapsible back pack to the front of it (which I didn't end up needing this time), had plenty of room for those weirdly long boxes and stuff that needed to be kept flat between them, and it was just extremely convenient to have one less of those shopping bags on my arm. And now I use it for my weekly Call of Cthulhu materials. I'll definitely be emptying it for this year's Gen Con. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20313571/ That's a pretty cool and useful looking backpack. The only thing is that the straps look like they may not be that comfortable or sturdy. In any event, the next time I'm in Ikea, I'm going to take a look at it.
