I started gaming on a bootleg playtest copy of Metagaming’s The Fantasy Trip in ’77 and met OD&Ders through my college fencing club just before AD&D came out. I’ll mention that we 5 Fantasy Trippers only started D&D because they were more numerous and wouldn’t even look at TFT and our TFT games continued for three more years. I’ve played in OD&D, AD&D 1st & 2nd E, GURPS, Traveller, EPT, TFT, FTL:2448, Bureau 13: Stalking the Night Fantastic and about a half- dozen more, and DMed in most of them, for 31 years. I have run tournaments at Gencon, Origins, Nancon (TX), Texicon, & Warcon, in Bureau 13 and Twilight 2000. I have not gamed more than a couple of times a year for the past several years and only in EPT and AD&D2E.

- I’m looking for a group to game with anything from one to a few times a month. I like the comradery of face-to-face gaming -- as well as the pizzas. I believe in role-playing instead of rollplaying, entrancing worlds and fascinating backgrounds, NPCs who you would WANT to interact with rather than have to, twenty-siders bouncing 'midst the pizza and the fact that it is my place in life to say, when told the back door to Tegel Mansion is ajar, “Okay, I’ll unscrew it.”
And that it is good for the DM’s heart to have to, waving a DMG and screaming, chase a player around the gaming table a few times every other adventure. And that DMs should, on a regular basis, roll large numbers of dice for no apparent reason, glare at the players over the top of their DM’s Screen and scribble furiously on a hidden piece of paper. - Currently Playing
