That's cool you're from Michigan. My family's from California but we kind of just stuck around after my dad retired from the AF. We almost were stationed at KI, and I've never been up to Marquette until last year when I had a trial up in federal court. Now I've already done two trials up there and I love the area. Pretty isolated, though.

I remember very well the huge plane crash there. Wasn't there like 11 crew members who died? My dad used to be an EW officer on the B-52s, which is why we moved there, and he knew a few of those guys. Another guy who was a good friend of my younger sister and graduated high school in Oscoda with her became an A-10 pilot and a few years ago crashed one in Alaska and was killed. It can be kind of startling to get news like that.

Anyway, good to meet you and see you around.

It's a small world, Man! I grew up just north of Grand Rapids and was stationed at K. I. Sawyer from '87-'90. I've stopped through Wurtsmith a couple of times while driving home (it was out of my way but I'd drive friends down that were heading there). I was at KI when our pre-IG team was traveling to Wurtsmith on a Wurtsmith tanker and crashed on approach (and when one of our Buffs blew up over the runway at KI). You started D&D earlier than me though, I started when I was stationed at RAF Mildenhall in the 90's. I stopped back through KI in 2003 to see the place and it was kind of depressing. My old shop was open and unlocked and had about 1 1/2 inches of water throughout the entire building. Although it may have been cleaned up by now. I saw on the internet that a Heritage Museum was opened in '06. Next time I'm back in Michigan I'll have to go check it out. I wonder what Wurtsmith looks like now?

Thanks for the visitor message and I'll see you around the boards.

Thanks for the XPs! I'm sorry to say that my obliviousness is so complete that I just now noticed that you gave them to me from April. I see you're an Air Force guy. My dad is AF retired, my sister is AF, and my little sister was AF in early 90's. I started playing D&D while we were stationed at Wurtsmith AFB in Oscoda, Michigan way back in 1980. Lots of "flyrods" played then; enough that our small town had its own hobby store owned by a retired AF guy. Cheers!
