I can't stop "fixing" the D&D rules. They can always be improved.
I'm pretty serious about nutrition and read the medical literature going back to the 1850s. Ask me if you have any questions.

- I like old school games with a grittier feel. Ideally you should be able to use the rules to reenact the great scenes from the great fantasy novels (which RAW D&D can rarely do).
I have nothing against modern mechanics though and enjoy 4E, but I'm willing to modify it around the edges to get the game I want. I don't like re-writing classes, feats and powers but simple manipulation of the basic game engine has proven more than sufficient to allow "Lord of the Rings Gaming." This should only become more true with each supplement Wizards releases, all of which I am looking forward to.
My worlds reflect "Gygaxian Naturalism." Dungeons, caves, forts and keeps may appear haphazard with random monsters at first glance, but there's usually a method to the madness. As a student of the history of trade and financial markets that part of my game can be fairly "realistic", but (as with all other aspects of the campaign world) I use it to help PCs have more fun, not hinder them.

- I don't "tell stories" when I play D&D. I adventure. Afterward, when the gold is counted and the bodies piled high, we may tell stories about how it all went down. Or not.
The slaughter will continue until play improves.
