It's a small world, Man! I grew up just north of Grand Rapids and was stationed at K. I. Sawyer from '87-'90. I've stopped through Wurtsmith a couple of times while driving home (it was out of my way but I'd drive friends down that were heading there). I was at KI when our pre-IG team was traveling to Wurtsmith on a Wurtsmith tanker and crashed on approach (and when one of our Buffs blew up over the runway at KI).

You started D&D earlier than me though, I started when I was stationed at RAF Mildenhall in the 90's. I stopped back through KI in 2003 to see the place and it was kind of depressing. My old shop was open and unlocked and had about 1 1/2 inches of water throughout the entire building. Although it may have been cleaned up by now. I saw on the internet that a Heritage Museum was opened in '06. Next time I'm back in Michigan I'll have to go check it out. I wonder what Wurtsmith looks like now?
Thanks for the visitor message and I'll see you around the boards.
