    Regarding your comments on Quasqueton's XP breakdown for AD&D modules, I think you're spot on. The vibe I've always gotten from those was that he's driving towards some kind of "Well, AD&D started the whole trend of power tripping, see, I've got the math to back me up" goal of putting down critics of 3e. Fact is you can't simply assume that as written everyone will always find every treasure and defeat every monster in every module and do it in some mechanical fashion, ignoring virtually all of the rules regarding level advancement and on and on. Thanks for that post. I'd have replied like this to it but I really don't wanna get into it with the dozen or so people who crap on 1e out there...
