How do I put an image stored in my hard drive onto a thread?

I know how to copy an image from the net and paste it on a thread, but I can't do it for images stored on my hard drive. How can it be done?

Use the manage attachments button.

Right now I'm getting a ' Attachment only partially uploaded' error.

Will it appear on the thread, or simply as a linked attachment to download?
