First of all, these are targeted ads - unlike the usual ones you'd see on a website, they're at least for products that I
might be interested in. So that's a plus to me right there. I can't honestly say that I've seen an ad for a product I don't already know about, but I keep up with what's coming out rather rabidly.
Second, they're not pop-ups. Talk about interfering with normal browsing...yuck. That would turn me off completely. Banners OK, pop-ups bad.
Now, there are banners out there that manage to interfere with normal browsing. I've seen a few of them pop up on my Opera window: they flash or shimmy or do other annoying things, making it extraordinarily difficult to concentrate on the page. Fortunately, ENworld doesn't seem to have any of those - and I hope that you'd be nice enough to ask anyone that tries it to redo their ad.
Now, as soon as I get a permanent job, I'll see about this community sponsor thing...
