Problem with Logging Out

I can't seem to log out. I click log out dozens of times, each time it says all cookies are deleted, and then immediately I am logged back in. Any help? thanks

Darkness has disabled Experience Points
A few people have encountered this problem, myself included. Deleting the files* manually should help. Closing and restarting your browser is probably also a good idea.

*Not sure which ones. Maybe kill everything in cookies and temporary internet files that's related to EN World.

Here's what happened. When we went to the new server, the structure of stuff in the cookie changed. Now it doesn't recognize that you want to leave.

There's a fix that you only have to do once. Delete your EN World cookies, close your browser, and head back to log in. That should solve the problem.

*bump*

MM's suggestion about clearing my cookies reminded me of this. No matter what utility I use, ENWorld's own, my system auto's, manually, I cannot clear all my ENWorld cookies. How do I know this? I am utterly unable to log out. I've tried several times tonight. Restarts and all. IE and Mozilla. Rummaged all throughout my pc, cleared everything, restart, come online, and its Welcome, Greylock. every single time.

Thoughts?

Delete the cookies folder then immediately shut firefox down to destroy any lingering session variable. On IE you'll need to shut the whole computer down. If that don't work then you're doing something wrong - because there's no way the server should be able to recognize you at that point.

Couldn't delete the folder (WinME wouldn't let me). But I did everything I'd already done before, and restarted. Again. Then came online. Everything worked fine, but ENWorld locked up my browser. Reboot. Rinse, repeat. Again. And again. After the fourth time ENWorld locked up my browser and I rebooted, I came on and found myself logged out.

Yay!

So of course I log back in to post this. Guess I'm a sucker for cookies...

There's you're problem right there. Either downgrage to Win98 or upgrade to WinXP, trust me you'll be a extremely happy after doing so. WinME is the worst version of Windows that ever hit the market.
