| Should Copyright/Piracy threads be against the rules? Doesn’t it seem that those Copyright/Piracy threads usually end up being locked after lots of rancor? !
Who thinks they should be against the rules just like politics, religion & abusive slams?
Sam

| Should be in Meta.
Don't see a problem with them, they are topical and relevant converstaions that relate to the gaming industry. |

| I don't know-- copyright threads are far more relevant to people here than most religion/politics.
I think Morrus had the right idea when he said that he was going to be watching the thread closely, with no tolerance for uncivil behavior. The threads are, more or less, necessary, as is an increased level in vigilance while dealing with them.
Eventually, we might reach a point where any new copyright thread gets closed and linked to the old ones, but I don't think it's quite that bad yet. Every forum has its recurring vitriol topics-- and I'd say one of ours is obviously copyright. |

| I think they are o.k. It heats up sometimes but I think they are worthwhile threads.

| They are fine. They are easy enough to avoid reading if one has no interest in them. Certainly there is an occasional post that gets out of hand, but those can be dealt with if need be. |

That and the fact both have not been tested in the court of law yet. |

| If they bug you so much, and they always end in unproductive slugfests, then just ignore them.

I'm not trying to write the next great fantasy novel. I'm not an amateur thespian. Nor am I a number crunching, power gaming munchkin, or a rules lawyer. I'm not trying to emulate my favorite movie or novel. I'm not here to tell you how to play or that how you play is wrong or right. I'm neither a "role" or "roll" player. I'm here to have fun. I'm here to enjoy high adventure. I'm a D&D player. Pick up your dice, and start rolling. I'm here to play.

HINT: Gaming comes down to having fun. If somebody at the table doesn't have the same expectations as the rest of the group, you're going to have trouble. Doesn't matter if it's rule set preferences, roll vs. role play, or bringing the right munchies. You need to set the expectations for the campaign when you gen chars or you are going to get hosed at some point. |

| Yay, lets turn this forum into a place where people can just agree with each other, the forum would be much more friendly without heated arguments! Or not. Where's the rolleyes smiley when you need it?
A vocal NO here. A forum should be censored as little as possible. If you cannot handle a debate of a particular (on topic!) subject, thats your problem, not mine, not the forums or the government.
