TracerBullet42 has printed up some posters for the upcoming Chicago EN World Gameday on November 12th, and relayed this in the main thread about it (accessible from my sig.)

Curt had a pretty good idea that we might want to try to incorporate for next time. He mentioned that there are EnWorld Game Days going on all around the country all the time and that an "official" EnWorld Game Day poster, complete with the EnWorld logo and such, might be a good thing to have put together. But perhaps that idea belongs in the Meta area...
So, what do you think? it might be possible to create a poster, including logo and art, and leave room on a file to add things like location, time, and events.

I dunno how many gamedays would use them. Up here in New England, the Gamedays seem to get filled up without exterior advertising, and the venues aren't large enough to require lots of posters.

But no harm in it, I suppose.
The Gamedays here in Chicago fill up rapidly as well, but a poster can advertise the event in the store and perhaps lead to a few new faces showing up. Also, the posters can be given away by store owners to their customers -- who might not know about EN World or the Gamedays.

Ah, I see. I guess up here we don't work it so much like an open convention. I guess ours are a little more "gameday for EN Worlders" and a little less "EN World Sponsored gameday".

That is another issue - the Boston Region ENWorlders are more "homey" in their approach to ENWorld (which is one reason I'd love to go one day!) and in fact each region's been doing it differently - Chicago has Games Plus, the Maryland-Virginia ENworlders do it at a convention hall, we Carolinas ENWorlders have been doing it at NC State University, etc. (In fact, the Carolinas are in it with two other organizations, making the gamedays HUGE events!) It would be nice to have something for optional use that "tied it all together," though.

If there's one dragon, it's a solo monster.
If there's five dragons, they're standard monsters.
If there's a dozen dragons, either most of them are minions or your DM is tired of the campaign.

Well, what we do is run the games at Games Plus, and most of hte people who show up are EN Worlders. (People have to register for the games on the boards, but we do take some walk-ins.) The reason I have suggested posters is to let some of the people who go to Games Plus who might not know about the Gameday or EN World to know about it. (We might get a few new board members, which is a plus. I think having somethign for optional use might work well in letting people who might not know about EN World know that we are here.)

Feel free to use the EN World logo for this if you like. It sounds like a good idea to me!
Perhaps a Gameday page on EN World would help? Like a sub-news page, perhaps, such as the PDF or Sci-fi news pages? People could post details of upcoming Gamedays, etc.

As I said, no harm in it.
Though, to be honest, I have to shut off my cynicism to say that. Been a little too close to a few too many concoms, I think. There's always a risk when you put out an "official" badge on a thing.

I used to be a reporter, so cynicism was a professional hazard -- especially when I had to deal with government bureaucracies. Umbran, I do appreciate your concern and respect it -- as I have seen a few cons where I wondered how it was organized -- if at all. However, I think that creating a template poster for people to use locally will give them an option to use it or not. If we can avoid reinventing the real, why not?
Possibly, Morrus and the moderators might want to ask some of our members -- including Reidzilla to come up with various poster designs. We can even make it a contest and have the members comment on what they think about each design. (Possibly, we might get so many good designs that Morrus and the moderators may opt to have multiple poster templates.)
