Gah! - ads never stop loading

Has anyone else seen this? I'll click a group or thread, and the page will sit there, mostly loaded, but keep spinning as it futilely tries to load ads from some google site. Is there anything that can be done about this? It doesn't prevent the use of the site as far as I know, but it's annoying.

I've seen it happen. I've learned to ignore it. At least here you get the page up and can use it. I've been to other sites where the bulk of the page loads after the ads, so when an ad isn't accessible it just sits there and spins its little cyber wheels showing a mostly (or sometimes completely) blank page.

I haven't noticed that here at ENWorld, but I have noticed it at other sites, and I agree that it's highly annoying. I wish I knew what Google is doing that's making it crawl to a halt.

*That's* what's causing pages not to finish loading all the time. Thanks! I've been wondering about this for a while now.

I wonder if that's also causing my unread-posts ticker not to update sometimes...I'll go into a thread at the last unread post, catch up on it, go in again later and it puts me back to the same place I started the previous time.
