get Ghostscript. It can do what you want. I'll see if I can find a link for you and I'll post it if I can, otherwise it should be easy to find.

Course even with the Full version of Acrobat if the PDF if the files have the security feature enabled then you wont be able to edit them at all...even in Acrobat.
1. Moved to Meta, where computer-related questions are asked
2. We don't condone piracy or theft... but you already knew that.

Thanks guys, good tips, I tried downloading the Jaws evaluation programs.. I'll see if it works, but I would REALLY like to be able to edit anything, so if someone knows where to find the thing for the security thing please email me or something
Check if there's any type of export or conversion ability - that may help. Also, the ability to select text is controlled by the security feature, which I think is under "File". could be wrong, though.

coping from a .pdf, it's like one of those "If they knew what you were going to do, it would be so easy to do it."
A lot of companies that sell pdfs as product have a security feature so you can't just clipboard their product and cut and paste it to an email for your friends. On the other hand, there are those of us who just want to print relevent text without all the fancy pictures that soak up ink and slow down print times. Hey, I love a great presentation as much as the next guy, but not when I have to print it up on my dime.
That security function is one of my major beef with some pdf publishers. It makes it harder to use the product in a way that should be legitimate, like pasting a spell or a feat over to a separate piece of paper that can be stapled to the character sheet, while not actually making the product any harder to distribute.
I find White Wolf to be especially bad in this regard.
