Isn't Pathfinder Off Topic for this Forum(Was in the 4e Forum)?

Seriously.

It's an OGL RPG and a good option for people who want to stay 3.5ish, but it's not 4e.

Of course, there is a whole nightmare of "where does this belong" to come.

Will 4e retain its own forum or will it get tumbled back to General RPG after release?
Will Rules become all rules, will it be split, will it be converted to 4e?

I was wondering the same thing, frankly.

Yes and no. The initial announcement and the pre-announcement threads I'd say no as they have a direct relation to 4e as they have an impact upon it. Their discussions have expressed that for the most part. The post announcement threads should probably be moved to their own area. However since it is such a big topic and currently a theme popping up through out the market (i.e. Arcanis moving away from 3.x) perhaps we need another area of the forum to discuss former D&D themed games/settings which have moved specifically related to 4e.

I think it should go in the General Discussion Forum - or maybe get its own Forum? But the former is best for me, since this means I'll visit it a little more often (or so I hope ).

But you should also adjust the thread title, shouldn't you?

I suspect that will prove to be a phantom. The possibility of Paizo selling the kinds of numbers it would take for that to be true is extremely unlikely. Pathfinder best hope is to absorb as many of those who are not switching editions anyway. About the only tie to 4E held by Pathfinder is that they are both, at this point, going to be rpgs someday. Pathfinder won't steal players from 4E, though 4E might drive players away who wind up with Pathfinder. That's not a direct relationship and Pathfinder threads should probably not be in the 4E forum, where all they are likely to do is agitate people.

Most likely structure:

General (non-rules) 4e threads mingle with 3e threads in the General forum.
We have one forum for 4e rules.
We have a different forum for pre-4e rules (which will be primarily 3.x, of course.)
House rules is low enough volume to handle both 3e and 4e house rules.
Pathfinder lives in the OGL forum.
We pillory anyone who tries to start an edition war.

I particularly like that last one.

Pillory: a wooden framework erected on a post, with holes for securing the head and hands, formerly used to expose an offender to public derision.

Oh, so that's what they call that thing.

Can't have an edition war over two games that do not exist, IMO.

Do NOT start an edition war here.

Please re-read Piratecat's post above for some advince on the consequences.
