MetaPost comments and questions about the messageboards and other parts of EN World. If you have a problem, this is where to go. Moderator email addresses are posted here.
Originally posted by Blacksad Theoricaly, yes. There is other free stuff listed in the D20 Guide (including Umbragia, a free setting hosted on ENworld).
But Practicaly, the last time I read one of their netbook, it used many things from the WotC class book (the book of feat use divine feat).
So the big problem will be the number of updates, material taken out and in, finally 3 months old reviews might not accurately describe the product.
One more thing, the product in the d20reviews must fulfil the criteria to use the d20 logo on their products, umbragia is free AND it also fulfil this criteria, as far as I know the netbooks doesn't do this.
The problem with netbooks is that they are not a defined, constant thing that can be reviewed. They get changed all the time, much like a web page. This means that any reviews written might not actually be reviews of the product that currently exists - and we don't have the itme to go running round deleting reviews or editing product details every time the thing changes.

So, what is the call?
Should I not put them up?
I could put a disclaimer in each product description about the nature of netbooks.
I'd say put just one "publisher" for all netbooks etc. Only add those confirmed as final. If the netbooks disappear, as they have a tendency to do, they get removed.
Alright, I'll admit to it, I initially emailed Krug, then got passed to FD, then FD directed me to this thread (thanks FD).
Anyway, it was my hope to have the FanCC listed with the other publishers...we my be volunteers, but we do produce...sporadically.
Anyway, to my knowledge, Classes is doing stable NBs, as in, each release is final. Feats, Magical Treasures, Creatures and NPCs (the fairly stable ones) have, to date, modified the existing book with changes.
What would you have of us so that we can get listed?

Going by Morrus's suggestion-
we could add a publisher called: Netbooks
I will look after it and periodically check with FanCC and any other similar sites I come upon.
I will put a disclaimer in the publisher description, and make sure the short descriptions of the products indicates any specific affiliation of the netbooks (FanCC for example).
If that is acceptable to both sides, then I will do it over the next couple of nights.

Respectfully submitted

That works. The publisher is "Netbooks & Fan Created Products" and then product lines include things like "Fantasy Netbook Community Council" and anyone else who happens to write netbooks and other free things.
But don't feel you have to go seeking them out or anything. The fan-created stuff is just too widely dispersed to do that. Keep it to items released as "final" - which means there will be no more changes save in an errata fixing sense. Don't add organic or changing items to the database as, frankly, it's pointless.

That's probably not a bad idea. There are several Netbooks associated with FanCC, but not all of them. For instance, the Netbook of Planes severed its relationship with us, and I'm sure there are other netbooks out there (Khur's doing one now for the Legendary Class competition entrants) that aren't associated with us.
