Is EN World 2 really going to be ready?

I keep looking at the dev site for EN World 2, dev.enworld.org. But the front page looks pretty broken, at least in IE6 and Firefox. There's one story (always the same), a lot of blank space, and a horribly stretched vertical banner for Burning Sky). Trying to click back on the dates gets me stuck in some sort of "don't go into the future mode" that I can't escape from. Various links just don't work (Freelance, Project Phoenix for example).

The countdown's getting kind of low...

A lot of it looks promising, but I just haven't seen any updates to the ENW2 front page in a long time. Please reassure me that EN World 2 isn't going to jump the Gleemax...

That's just because there's no news in it.

That's just a crappy banner made by me! I stretched it, not EN2. I was just testing the image upload part of the ad system.

They won't work at launch; they're later features.

Heh, I'm eying it nervously, too.

Well, it is a development machine, right? It isn't about content that gets updated. It is about the underlying code that produces functionality. That can change five ways from Sunday without you noticing it on the front page.

I am a developer. I understand the difference between content being there and functionality being there. When I said that I hadn't noticed any changes, I meant that I hadn't noticed any functionality changes.

But, if you say it's working, I'll take your word for it. Good luck on the upcoming release.

Much of the core of ENWorld 2 is on the PAM Webframeframework which is not only developed on dev.enworld.org but internally on the projects at dmgx. All of the work done in the last 2 weeks has yet to be ported over to EN2 but it does exist.

Also, much of the remaining work is of a stability nature. Not all the site converts - just news and forums. Some sections will remain up on the old codebase temporarily until they too can be moved.
