[OT] I have a favor to ask...

I'm doing a bit of research in the graph field (namely, finding maximal cliques in tree association graphs). I need to enter the ftp://dimacs.rutgers.edu/pub/challenge FTP site, where some files and programs I need are stored. Unfortunately, I cannot access it. I've sent emails to the admin, who answered that he checked the FTP server and it's perfectly operative. Which is odd, since I can access the http site with the same address fine.

Anyway, could someone please try to access the site above and tell me if he is successful or what errors he gets?

Works fine here too. Your firewall may be blocking FTP access.

Yah, I've never managed to enter an FTP site, either.
One day, I'll probably set my mind to learning what I'm doing wrong...

I could get in fine, and could access almost all the folders and files as well. The only ones not accessible are the (I assume) personal folders inside of ftp://dimacs.rutgers.edu/pub/challenge/submit/ .

I am using a firewall, but I can access other sites fine.

I'll try some more, but I have no idea of what the problem could be. Thanks.

Damn. Double damn. I've disabled firewall and router and went through a direct connection to the Internet, with no results.

Oh well... should someone have 5 minutes of spare time, I'd be incredibly grateful if he enters ftp://dimacs.rutgers.edu/pub/challenge and looks around for the work by Arun Jagota on using neural networks on max-clique. What I really need is a working implementation of his algorithms.

Otherwise, I'll wait until I can try with a different ISP.

What you need is a real FTP client.

I would recommend WS_FTP95 LE. It's around 5 years old and neat.

http://psionicist.online.fr/files/ws_ftple.zip (651 KB)

Much better than the client in your browser.
