How Do I? Advertising Question

All of the advertising stuff appears to be working now which is great. Thanks MM! My last question is what dimensions can I make the banners, what formats can I use, and are there any limitations to size? I assume I can use Flash, is that correct?

The header should be 728x90. The skyscraper column on the right (or left of the wiki) is 160x600. These are standard sizes recommended by the IAB.

The internal image manager can handle jpg and gif. PNG can't have alpha or IE 6 will mess up.

Max file size 100K. I can't imagine anything but a swf being that large.

You can use flash BUT you are responsible for writing the actionscript that triggers clickthru and tracking it yourself. If you want me to write it for you I will, but I charge $120 for this service - and that is in addition to ENWorld's charge to run the ad in the first place.

You can also use a javascript to invoke the ads like the google ads.

Do I need the Actionscript? Can't I just do a custom landing page for the add to track the visitors?

You don't need the actionscript - but unless your actionscript executes a call to the ENWorld server before loading your target page we can't track click thrus. If you have the means to do that on your own page this isn't a problem.
