Uhhhh...help?

What the frick are tags, and why can't I seem to post now without having one?

Specifically, I created a thread called "Gamers Lost and Found" that was originally called "Lost & Found" and kept getting an error message when I tried to post it.

I had not put enough "tags" in my thread, it said, and they must be of at least 3 characters (in the tags window was "Lost,&,Found").

Whazzupwiddat?

It tries to add the words in the title as tags automatically. The problem here seems to be that it tries to add the "&" too. Just remove it from the tag field (since it's under 3 characters long ) and it should be fine.

Whenever this kind of bug happens, just clear the tags-field and insert one word from the title as replacement, or figure out somekind of descriotive word for the thread as a tag.

Tags are ways of organizing threads. At the bottom of the thread page under the "new reply" button and above the "quick reply" area you'll see the tags for a thread.

In an effort to make sure that all threads have at least one tag they implemented a feature where if you didn't add any tags it would try to submit the subject as a list of tags. I can imagine that special characters, like & might give it heartburn.

If that happens you can just put a real tag in the tags field when you post a new thread. Pick a word that describes the thread and type it in there.

Personally I don't like that "auto tagging" feature and I wish they would turn it off, but I don't think any of the people who have the ability to change it know how - I believe Michael M added it when he was still in charge of stuff like that.

Strangely I think I'd be okay with having a PC die by a bear exploding out of his head.
