Is there a way to hide community supporter status?

Is there a way to hide community supporter status?

I've skimmed through the options, but I can't seem to find a way to not have the "community supporter" frame attached to my avatar.

There isn't, no. First time I've ever been asked that!

That would actually be a cool option.

I wouldn't know how to begin doing that. I know how to have it on or off for all, but not selectively.

This clearly isn't an optimal solution, but I think the green box goes away if you don't have an avatar (right?). Then if you change your title back to "Registered User," no one will ever know.

Is it a secret shame that must be hid away?

I'm really starting to think people come up with some of these requests to deliberately try to drive Morrus insane.

$3/month doesn't give us the right to make Morrus jump through hoops, folks. Unless he wants to jump through hoops, of course.

Hoops on fire optional.

Edit: I just want to add I don't necessarily think this is a bad idea though. Donating anonymously is something many people take seriously and often feel more comfortable doing.

is there a way to donate for someone else?

i used to buy supporter accounts for my gaming group. but with the new $3 subscription option i don't see how to give accounts to my group.

the new donation subscription forces you to log in so the script only goes to that user name.

at least that is my understanding.

so frankthedm would like to hide the script.
i would like to donate so others may hide or not their script.

I've been looking for a way to do that, but haven't found one yet.

A horribly cludgy workaround, of course, is to PayPal them the money and have them do it, but it's far from an elegant solution.

I'll keep looking for a mod that does that, but it may be that I'd need to pay someone to write it. In which case, it's gonna have to wait a while!

The custom avatar is sort of cool during fundraiser season, as it shows people how many active posters are supporting the site. In general, though, I would prefer to donate anonymously, and I don't think it should be obvious who isn't donating. This site runs on posts as much as it does $, and I think it could be potentially stifling if a sense develops that you have to be a CS to be a "real" member of EN World.
