PC- Am I to blame for getting the Bali thread locked down?

I posted a reminder to avoid religion and politics. Atticus said he was withdrawing from the discussion. You then (inadvertently?) bated him, quoting one of his posts with the implication that he thought it was better to be friends with terrorists than America. That's not the kind of comment that settles down a politically charged thread! I decided I didn't want to risk leaving it open, and so it was closed.

I know that you're a lot closer to Bali than we are, and I know the subject is a sensitive one. But the moratorium on politics and religion isn't just for US politics.

Say, if this happens again, please drop me an email instead of posting here. That's normal policy.
