Periodicals & Reviews

In a much ealier thread, it was stated that Periodicals are not eligible for reviews here (namely Dragon, Dungeon, Polyhedron, and in the case of the thread in question, Stygian).

But I noticed that United Playtest's "Gaming Frontiers" has a review up, even though it too is a periodical.

Hmm... BTW, the reason that periodicals aren't eligible for reviews is that they become unavailable soon after being published, correct?

That doesn't stick either, Darkness - especially for e-periodicals.

That's a question for "the man." I got a copy so I reviewed it, and it was already available. Have no real opinion on whether they should or should not be reviewed, other than to say there is no way I am reviewing every issue of a periodical...

Then why not quarterly reviews (4 a year) of magazines and periodicals? This way, people can be informed of the current quality of a publication and we can also see if they improve or lessen in their quality as the months pass without a review.

Just a thought.

E-periodicals, huh? Good point; it is a rather different situation with these.

(I still think that this is something to consider for "normal" periodicals, though. )
