Confused - subject line edits (complete with edit)

I'm confused.

In the Story Hour forum, it's become common practice to update the subject of the original post to include a "date updated" so readers know when the story got added to, as opposed to just folks posting on the thread.

I did this today, but the change in the subject of the first post is not reflected in the thread title in the list of threads. I'm confused.

Anyone else?

Odd. It certainly should be, if you edited the first post.

Did you:

- make it too long?
- not have your edit go through for some reason?

Try it on this thread, and see how it goes.

The edit went through fine and as a test I shortened it to see if that was the problem, but it still didn't update.

Apparently the test on this thread worked. I'm even more confused now. I wonder if it's a post-length problem?

I betcha I know. There's a timeout setting in the Admin control panel; I'll go check it.

Okay, try it now.

I figured. It was set for 70,000 minutes. I've increased it to 90,000.
