Topic Tags

We have a time-honoured custom of using topic tags in our subject titles. Tags such as [OT], [Humour], [Dragon], [Dungeon], [AU] etc. etc.

Squirrel Nutkin has given me an idea:

As you can see, the "Message Icon" part of a new thread can be customised. At present we are using the default icons such as and . Wouldn't it be so much cooler if the message icons were actually relevant to our boards?

I'm not sure which we'd need, and I have no graphical skill so I can't do 'em myself. But what do you think of the idea?

I think we'd need to come up with a fairly encompassing list of tags (although more can always be added as-and-when). Here's my start on the list:

Off Topic
Humour
3.0
1st Edition
2nd Edition
AU
Paizo (or should that be Dragon, Dungeon, Poly?)
ENnies
Gen Con

And for some of the other forums, maybe some more specific tags would be needed?

Movies
TV
Books
Comics

NPC
Monster
Spell
PrC
Item

Any thoughts?
