Admin? Two of my threads broke down...

Hi,

since yesterday there have been two threads that I started, that have been acting mighty strange. I asked Creamsteak when I learned that one of them didn't work (in the Rogue's Gallery), but he said he couldn't do anything about it. He diverted my message to Piratecat and Morrus.

Now, I found out that one of my threads in Talking the Talk is acting even stranger. No one can access page 1, thought page 2 is showing just fine. The Reply button doesn't work, even though Quick Reply does. Everyone seems to encounter these difficulties, so it's (probably) not in my account.

So, this is some extra information for Morrus or Piratecat. Could you perhaps fix the problem? Thanks for your time and effort.

perhaps you put some greaterthan or lessthan symbols in the middle of the post?

Hmmm. I'll go look.

EDIT - my guess is that the index that tracks threads is slightly corrupted. I'll need to close the boards to fix it, so I'll probably tackle it tonight instead of right now. Please let me know if you notice other idiosyncracies, and start a new thread; if we fix the old one, we can always merge them.

it seems like the boards were down, but unfortunately my threads still don't work. There were some things in the TtT thread that weren't back-upped. Is there anything you can do for me, or should I consider the thread lost?

I'm not sure yet. The boards were down because Cyberstreet suffered a DOS attack, not because we re-indexed! As I said, start new threads in the short run if you haven't already, and we'll take a stab at these - most likely late tonight, although I need to check with Thomas Heretic.

It's okay. I created two new threads, and managed to salvage the content from the old ones from my browser cache. Thanks for the time you put in, though.
