MetaPost comments and questions about the messageboards and other parts of EN World. If you have a problem, this is where to go. Moderator email addresses are posted here.
I have started doing some Dark Sun conversions over in the Conversions forum. However, that's not exactly the most widely-read forum here at ENWorld, so I was wondering what the moderator view on advertising these on other forums (General and/or House Rules, probably) is? Such an advertisement would basically be a post saying "Hey, I've got a thread going over there, do check it out and post comments there." Is this kosher?
I thought pimping was illegal in Sweden. But I don't think that there's anything wrong by it if you do it in high traffic times, and you expect the mods to move/delete after a while.
You know, this brings up something that we might try to organize to get folks to branch out a bit and see what else is on the forums...
What if every forum had an "ambassador" -- someone maybe elected by consensus by the folks who hang out there pretty regularly. This person could, perhaps once a week, make a post in General pimping some of the best/most interesting things going on in that forum at the moment. I bet it would also be of interest to post the same thing on the news site about once a week -- a Message Board Roundup, as I used to call it. What do you think about that? It wouldn't have to be the same person every time; the folks in the forum could take turns or just do it on a whim or something, but maybe they'd want to confer with each other to develop the list of threads they want to include.
